Hive Developers Are Kicking Ass

▶️ Watch on 3Speak

This video will have a follow up article going into even more detail later in the week.

Remeber SMTs? How about Hive Bonds? What about other enhancements?

In this video I discuss something that was placed in front of me that provides some insight into what some of the developer ideas are. It is easy to think nothing is happening with Hive when that simply is not the case.

We go through some of it.

The block size possibly getting increased to two megabytes per block is pretty exciting for me. Looking forward to the possibilities that will open up.

Not sure it will be done until needed but good to have ready. The fact it is being tested and the devs has the data means that we should be well aware of the abilities/limitations when it is required.

For now, we have enough ability to cover what is being produced in each block.

I've compiled the list, so it is easier to recollect when the time comes to implement any of those ideas (if ever). The descriptions are probably not fully understandable to people not engaged in development as it requires quite a bit of insider knowledge. What can be seen from it, is how long it can take to get stuff done. Some of the points were first discussed before HF24. Most of the optimizations I've already described in article 20 months ago and only now one is actually being actively worked on. But I guess it is because there is no real pressure to improve hived code itself, unless it is needed for second layer applications (lately it was mainly HAF). Instead there are second layer lite accounts on the table, some API overhaul, first steps of design of HAF based smart contract engine etc. so quite a lot of work that is not even on that list.

Yeah. I sensed that reading through the list. It did spell out the order which some things will have to go (if they are ever addressed).

I applaud your efforts to get more ideas on the table and try to bring some things to the forefront of getting coded. It is tough when people have different ideas of what is required.

One of the drawbacks of blockchain is how slow moving it can be. Of course, one of the advantages of blockchain is how slow moving is can be.

Dalz with Hive Bonds is pretty interesting. I remember how quickly it sold out. I have read some suggestions for this to be offered officially in Hive. I do think that finding out about these things is difficult. It would be nice to have a kind of banner on top of sites to share some of these updates.

Well there are a lot of different ways it can go and some of it depends upon the coding on chain. So there is that aspect to things.

We will see where things go.
