Well it does put the name in front of others. So that is a benefit. It also gives people another way to trade and bet on/against HIVE.

The launch of futures and the volume they bring is a massive vote of confidence for HIVE. We had many days where even the spot trading volume was higher than the marketcap of $HIVE. People are bound to notice and exchanges are going to want a piece of that trading volume.

Excellent explanation! So, to continue the comparison with oil futures, is this like taking delivery of your oil in USD instead of physical oil? If you did really want the oil you would just buy it on the spot.
