Warren Buffet built his fortune on basic materials. He like things that are tangible and solid, like corn flakes, bricks, tractors, bulldozers, building materials and such. If he can't see it and hold it, he does not believe it has value. The guy hated the idea of the internet. He didn't even like cell phones because they weren't anchored to something "real" like a plug in the wall.

Crypto represents everything he doesn't believe in; it doesn't "exist" within his frame of reference...

=^..^=

It is not the first time that Warren Buffett talks about a subject that he knows nothing about. Your post reminds me of a 2006 New York Times interview that exposes his ignorance about the most basic characteristics of capitalism when he talked about class warfare. Yes, he is a genius in the field of securities trading, but this doesn't make him an authority in economic theory and financial technology.

If a man like Warren Buffett with his stature can be clueless about crypto, this should make anyone all the more careful about this sector. I see here the danger of seeing new things from old lenses. I was there when I was a crypto basher for I thought I knew the thing. Better to remain silent when you don't know a thing. People may think you are wise if you just do that. The moment you speak about something you don't know, your ignorance will be exposed.

Warren Buffet is too old and he doesn't understand technology. His strategy has worked for decades and I don't think he will be able to see value in crypto until it's big enough. Technology keeps developing and understanding the trends will definitely help.

The speaker begins by acknowledging Buffett's influence in financial markets and the attention his remarks attract. However, he questions whether Buffett truly comprehends the intricacies of cryptocurrency, given his traditional investment background.

The speaker suggests that most people, including those in the finance industry, lack a deep understanding of money and cryptocurrency.
