Metaverse: Appealing To The Gamified Mind

There literally is a new mindset that was created over the last few decades.

Today, the average young adult has thousands of hours of gaming experience by the time they are old enough to legally drink alcohol. They were reared in the digital age which affects everything from how they think about interaction as well as personal identity.

We all know the digital world operates much quicker than the "real" one while also not subscribing to Newtonian physics. There is much more possible in the digital world.

If is rather simple to change one's identity. When gaming, one can be a princess, warrior, politicians, or bartender all in the matter of an hour. We also can instantly change our avatar, further highlighting the transitory nature of this realm.

All of this, naturally, has an impact upon how people view themselves. The old mindset of "this is what I am" is changing. To a gamified mind, one can change in a matter of a few seconds. Thousands of hours of gaming reinforces this point.

Naturally, this is something the politicians and bankers do not understand. They look at the world through their eyes, not understanding that hundreds of millions of people, especially the younger ones, have a totally different mindset.

This all sets the stage for the Metaverse.

Combining Of The Worlds

As we transition from a digital world to one that is based upon mixed reality, we are going to see the mindset of people really enter the picture.

Gaming is looked at by most as a form of recreation. They believe it is something that kids do as an escape. In fact, many parents scream at them to "turn the game off and go read a book". However, this is a different world than many of us grew up in.

The mindset these kids have is what will lead to the embracing upon the Metaverse. To them, mixed reality seems normal. Many were immersed in ecosystems that appeared real to them. While it was separate from the physical world, the underlying economic principles existed. What was missing was the connection to the "real economy".

That is in the process of changing. Cryptocurrency bridges the gap between the gaming world and the "real". Many of the older generation fail to grasp what is taking place since they cannot understand this connection. To them, cryptocurrency is nothing since it does not apply to what they view as "real". Nevertheless, to the gamified mind, this is as natural as breathing.

As these worlds are combined, the old rules start to diminish with an entirely new spectrum developed. Again, it is a concept that is missed by most, something that will come back to haunt them.

In the digital world, things such as weapon, skins, and other items were purchased the same as one buys things on Amazon. A couple generations of the population were reared on this idea.

With the virtual, one will go from owning skins to having nightclubs, farms, or land. This is the natural progression. The key is that these will be part of economies that mirror what people presently see in the real world.

Hence, it will be just a valid as anything else we deal with.

Entirely New Class Of Entrepreneurs

Our present system operates at a slow pace. We are mired in this concept of going to school for years then either getting a job to "work our way up" or start one's own business. Like the former, the later requires years of work. Of course, typically only a small percentage garner the majority of the rewards.

The foundation of the Metaverse ischanging that. We are already seeing traditional media, bank, and Wall Street financers being threatened. This is opening up the door for a host of other opportunities for aspiring entrepreneurs. The traditional avenue of wealth building is rapidly changing.

There is a primary difference. As mentioned in Metaverse equals abunance we are embarking upon a realm that can expand in a near infinite directions. Each individual is empowered with social, financial, and personal controls that are only found in the virtual world.

Everyone is converted from user to owner. As an active participant, each is now tasked with the ability to establish whatever he or she wishes. Anyone can be a banker, media personality, a gamer; essentially a brand. The limitations are being removed as we collectively replace the traditional roles of development, financing, and business structure.

Here is where we see the opportunities expanding on an exponential scale. All who choose to participate have the ability to forge this path. In fact, the idea of ownership cannot be avoided. Simply by being involved and being rewarded, one is instantly involved in asset accumulation. This means each has to decide where to utilize what is amassed.

Switching Roles

Much like in gaming, the successful people in this new world will be the ones who are most adept at switching roles. Our changes will be made just like changing an avatar on a screen. Different "personas" will be ongoing, each with a vested interest in our ongoing financial evolution.

The traditional mindset is conditioned to operate within a realm of clearly defined rules. We have them in school, jobs, and society in general. Within the digital realm, these are less evident. People can go in many different directions and can operate however desired within the parameters outlined by the code.

Of course, if these parameters are unacceptable to one, he or she can instantly switch to a new realm which has a completely different set of rules. This is not possible for most in the physical world. Most of us are stuck with what we were served up with based upon where we were born.

This is not present in the digital nor virtual realm.

Hence we will be able to freely move about from network to network, assuming many different roles. Changing is as simply as swapping an avatar in a game.

The difference is something the gamified mind can understand. There are a lot of people who will resist this. They simply cannot grasp the concept of radical change in a short period of time. At the same time, they deem certain interaction as "real" with others not being so. This outlook is going to diminish over time.

When we see the bridge that cryptocurrency is providing, we understand at how gaming is now transitioning to real income generation. Through the use of tokens, we are able to swap them for "real" currency which allows for the purchase of goods and services.

This means that what people do in the digital and virtual worlds will be just as legitimate as what is done in the physical. After all, a virtual bar owner in a successful game could be making a lot more money than one who owns a bar in the physical world.

Of course, for the later bar owner to go from that to race car driver is a bit of a stretch. In the virtual world, it is a matter of simply clicking to another game.

We are rewriting the rules of gig work and what it takes to operate in that environment. By eliminating the intermediaries, we see this become a more profitable pursuit, especially since going from "gig-to-gig" is getting easier.

The gamified mind has a different outlook on things. It is not as permanent and views situations as transitory. This is ideally suited for the Metaverse. Most are going to have to acquire this mindset.

I think gamers, developers, artists, and content creators are going to own the future. Most of us fall into those categories! Can showcase our talent very easily on the internet.

It's going to be much easier to make money via crypto & NFTs. These new puzzles are interesting and fun to solve. Maybe we get rewarded for good behavior too, lol.

Why are you so sure about that?

Maybe we get rewarded for good behavior too, lol.

What next? For breathing? 😂

By the way, good people are already rewarded. People are happy and grateful, if you are good to them. That alone is a reward.

Many folks are actually making a shit ton of money from gaming for years. Crypto and Web 3.0 technologies have opened the space even more. Gaming is a legit career option now. It has become so easy for artists and designers to sell their work through NFT platforms. I think this space is evolving exponentially as the internet reaches more people. That's why I feel pretty confident about where we are heading.

What next? For breathing? 😂

Haha. Who knows man! It could be possible.

People are happy and grateful if you are good to them. That alone is a reward.

That's a fact. But we can bribe people for doing more good. We could use always more kindness around. 😂

The opportunity is the distribution of stake which means more financial resources for those who are users. Right now only a few get any rewards outside the companies.

Look at Splinterlands. Anyone can play and earn a few cards. That might not make someone a world beater but it is more than one gets in the EA games.

Just like on Hive, a single upvote pays better than the most popular people on Twitter.

I rather kill politicians than become one. In the game, of course.

If the code permits, you can kill politicians too.

Naturally, this is something the politicians and bankers do not understand. They look at the world through their eyes, not understanding that hundreds of millions of people, especially the younger ones, have a totally different mindset.

I believe the younger ones are all about having to choose what's best for them and not whats in the rules. More importantly, be able to have a lot of choices.

The Gamified minds are seen as cheats and they are all about the shortcuts to life just like in the games, where a little cheat is what you need to get through to the next stage. I guess that's why most people see crypto as shortcut money or see it as a cheat to be financially free.

The metaverse is what a qualified mind wishes to mix with reality by making his environment more like one, and that alone brings more innovation and opportunity to the table

Because they are jealous.

Because they are jealous

Smiles...👽

They forgot the main goal which is FREEDOM. Crypto was able to get us to the next stage in our metaverse, which is alienating the problem that comes with money.

People do a lot of dumb stuff because of money most times, which might not have been thecase under normal condition where money isn't involved.

Cryptocurrency is providing the tools to create the Metaverse.

It offers a currency as well as ownership through NFTs. This is a big addition to the world that is being developed.

Sadly few understand this. Instead, they are relating it to what they know in the present system which is being radically changed.

Yeah NFTs are really great and they've really stand their ground with millions of dollars since their launch in 2027.

Crypto has created a place for easy marketing and this will make it more open to everyone to use but the understanding of this, lacks in the world we live in today. Definitely going to change in the future

Those with a gamified mind understand switching roles rapidly, being able to enjoy vast success in some areas while fading in others. Yet this is perfectly acceptable because the consequence of the failure is eliminated when the game is turned off.

The ones who are flexible are going to be able to adjust a great deal more than the majority in the physical world now.

Very true

We've seen how people who failed at most things pick up other things and became something great through the process.

Being able to fit in on more than one thing is the best way to go.

Just like crypto users using fiat to purchase physical goods offline and also using crypto to trade online, even earning it for free like we do here on Hive.

There really is a lot of potential out there for those who are willing to accept it. I'd like to think that I have been around technology enough that I should be able to transition pretty easily, but then again you never know. I might get dragged kicking and screaming!

The fact that you are on Hive is very telling as to your openness and willingness to adapt.

Those who are in here are really ahead of the curve. It is the ones who are still holding onto the present structure who are going to struggle.

It is great to see people move away from the miximalist views and move towards a more interoperable future with many blockchains and other forms of DLT (such as Hashgraph and DAG). The more tools we have, the better we will be able to fight the government authorities.

Blockchain gaming has allowed everyday players to make money out of their gaming experiences. @splinterlands is the best I have seen on this. You don't have to play tournaments to earn something out of it. Every Battle won counts to your crypto balance.

I am not a @splinterlands player but it seems like people can get started for minimal money and still be successful. Plus, with the social aspect, people can blog to get some resources which can be applied to the game.

Interoperability is going to be vital for the entire industry going forward. We need all the bandwidth we can get. There is no single blockchain that can handle all the centralized traffic that is out there.

I disagree. If you take second layers into account a blockchain can scale for all economic transactions in the world. I see no reason that Bitcoin will not maintain dominance and be the de facto value of society moving forward.

I am definitely looking forward to the metaverse. We will be able to do plenty of stuff and I expect it to be a way for people to make their salary online. Within the data world, everything is reliant on data and we will be generating it for revenue.

Gamers were around at the right time to take advantage of crypto especially when it came to mining as most of the rigs could easily be upgraded into a decent mining rig straight away. I know my son gained a distinct advantage through his gaming knowledge plus having built his gaming rig.

Most of the older generation see the young ones as too glued to their phones/games. What they don’t realize is our entire reality has changed. Blockchain is just the tip of the iceberg. And it won’t be business as usual. Personally I’ve been on a “gaming” quest for play to earn. My results have been mixed. I might be a little too early on this. But it is a trend nonetheless.

You brought up some great points in your outward glance into the future while keeping perspective of the past.
I will say the there is room for consistency and if someone doesn't want to change roles they don't have to. But in the crypto / finacial world usually having large stake ie resources and liquid assets helps maintain an identify or role desired.
But yet still we are speaking ambiguously and hypothetically.
What concerns me but intrigues me about the crypto space in relation to the video game phenomenon that was pushed relentlessly on my generation( I was born in '85), is that it was pushed and evolved with pentagon money to find qualified candidates for drone/machine warfare.
If there is, and surely there is, a connection to the pentagon needing the blockchain space to be developed and used for something unseen now, like video games were with drones,by users to develop code and operate with in it than hopefully, What a former coder for the pentagon created in Steem and now hive will lead the way in this space/ our space.
Which brings my ramble back full circle to your post about the future and how we operate in the space, the excitement and possibilities moving forward.
Hopefully, it just isnt secretly driven by nefarious war mongers.

That's me.
Oh and I finally understood what this metaverse is after all. It has much more logic than what we current live and the principles our society is built upon. The only thing I'm not excited about is kids living too much of a digital life and too little of the real world.
