The Age Of Abundance: Quasi-Infinite Economy

▶️ Watch on 3Speak

This is what Elon Musk mentioned in his presentation at Tesla AI day. With the quest to create a humanoid robot, we could see labor completely changed.

In this video I discuss the implications on the economy especially when tied to cryptocurrency. Here we have an infinite monetary system that could be coupled with the ability to send economic production skyrocketing. This is something to really consider along with the implications of it.

When I was a directory assistance operator our union called a strike. When it was over, management let me listen to a prototype of an AI operator, and lemme tell ya, that thing was almost, but not quite, ready to replace a human.

It got me to thinking what would happen as this technology spreads throughout the workplace and to the now hapless human replacees?

What will people do with all that free time?

UBI maybe? And if so, that would unlock a burst of creativity from human minds now freed from the drudgery of daily labor and able to devote themselves to activities that might benefit society. We'll see.

Well the UBI will come with all kinds of stipulations and is designed to be a way to keep people poor. I don’t think it will do anything good to free people sadly. We know they are already trying to force medical interventions on working people, never mind people who aren’t working and getting paid not to work.

What's that old saying about bread & circuses keeping the populace occupied so that they don't start thinking about revolution?

I think this will be something that will allow largesse to be given or taken away whenever the need arises.

There is definitely a lot of possibility coming with the age of abundance, I just hope that it’s able to translate to real world abundance not just things on the internet. If we can’t use the abundance to buy something in the physical world that makes it a little more difficult to have positive effects. Nonetheless though, there will be benefits abound.

We already have many little devices that take over things that humans have to do. Just think of smart devices that you can program from your phone. Smart outlets, thermostats, etc. Look at the Roomba... I mean it's replacing the need for humans to vacuum their houses. Smart refrigerators can be programmed to scan your fridge and basically create and do your grocery shopping for you. That soon can be tied in with services like Instacart. So we are already here, many people just think of it as the 'robots' like iRobot or other movies.
