The more I learn about what is going on with the new developments on 3Speak, the more I am convinced this is an industry changing moment.
The idea of decentralized video storage coupled with "mining" that allows for new token distribution along with all text being sent to the Hive blockchain is exciting.
In this video I discuss how 3Speak is looking to be a unifying force across a number of platforms in an effort to take on the likes of YouTube and Facebook.

3Speak is putting a lot of effort into sponsoring the platform on Twitter as an alternative to centralized social media.

They are building something designed to pull a lot of the different communities across crypto together.

So 3speak uses the hive token for payouts? Do you think that's going to change soon? Thanks for vlogging about this, I tried to listen to those videos but with their accent and my very bad hearing I couldn't make out anything they were saying.

For now, 3Speak pays out in Hive. There is no token, at of this moment. There will be a Speak token that will be tied to their platform. However, the idea is for each community/content creator to make their own and reward the followers using that.
One of the ways that the Speak token will be distributed is by airdrop, which needs to be staked, and by mining which is providing hard drive space for the storage of videos.
That is my understanding so far. There is a lot more to it. They will also take the unclaimed Speak that are airdropped and use that to spread around to platforms like LBRY that decide to use the decentralized storage.

It is quite great to have a video tuber challenger as 3Speak to get a piece of the pie from this immense market. Video is easier to digest than a post, thus it has its advantages over it. And videos give a personal touch to the content than cannot transpire from a simple writing.

Without a doubt, video is more the future than text. Also, take it a step further and think about life down the road as a content creator when we are in the virtual reality world.
At some point, it is likely that VLogs will become VRLogs.
So this could end up being a piece in the foundation for something much bigger down the road.

You don't even listen to the people you're trying to shill for very well. Matt said clearly he would COMPLY WITH LAWS. So your example of government chasing content on 10 computers is not even how the creators envision the system.
On that point though. That presents a conundrum. Because either content lives un-tethered to the platform and yes like your point, authorities are playing cat and mouse, or 3Speak has ability to nullify it under obligations of local laws... which then makes clear that a central authority or "backdoor" to content would exist.
The tokenomics also makes no sense. So the platform will only need Hive resources to store text? Who the hell cares about text when posting video content... just for the video title? Then you say there's going to be a 3Speak token. So what will that be used for if text is on Hive and each video attached to their community either individually tokenised or stored by Hive users. So what's the need for a 3Speak token. What's its purpose and what would give it value?
You might be thinking, "you're so pessimistic man.." but frankly I don't give a crap. One thing I do well is find flaws in things to improve them and this grand idea of 3Speak has so many flaws. If they're serious about it then it needs a lot of work because there's nothing about it that tells me it has potential to be the next video system.
A thing provided to Hive loyalist is all I see. It could only take off of by utilising an already established large network like bitTorrent. If only Hive users will be the content hosts then how the hell is that going to create network effect?
