The Problem With Web3: People Not Understanding Web3

▶️ Watch on 3Speak

It seems like we are entering a new world. Well, we are. For that reason, it is crucial that people understand what is taking place.

In this video I discuss some of the issues it appears we have with transitioning to Web3. At the core is that, my conclusion, is most do not understand it. They might talk about it yet do not fully grasp what it is.

Thanks. I think I was the one who asked the Wiki stuff. This helped explain the things I was confused at.

Understanding Web3 is very vital for the growth and acceptability of Web3. Why we are not having the expected transition to Web3 is because the general public does not really grasp it full potentials.

and the fact that the integration to web3 platforms is not as easy as web2 persons although attracted to web3 shy away from it. Web3 makes way more sense than web2. functions of web3 are more real world compatible than web2. So our developers have some work to do and we as hive users have some promoting work to do as well to get more users to the best web3 platform I am seeing right now.

That is part of it.

We also have a lack of willingness for people to change.

Summary:
In this video, Task discusses his observation that many people misunderstand the concept of Web 3 and fail to grasp the network state, a fundamental concept of societal transformation. He highlights the importance of understanding Web 3 for its development, emphasizing decentralization and distribution as key premises. Task explains how powerful nodes are central to Web 3, mentioning the necessity of utility over mere network effects. He warns that if the community does not address the utility aspect, major players might intervene, potentially hindering Web 3's full potential.

Detailed Article:

Task opens the video by addressing a common issue he sees regarding Web 3, emphasizing that many individuals do not truly understand the concept or the significance of the network state in societal transformation. He stresses that grasping these fundamental concepts is crucial due to their role in reshaping societal organizing, economic distribution, assembly, interaction, engagement, and ownership. Task asserts that Web 3 represents a radical evolution in societal structures and introduces the idea of decentralization and distribution as foundational principles.

He delves into the importance of Web 3's development, which centers around establishing a network based on powerful nodes. Task explains the significance of creating resilient structures through decentralization and distribution, which offer a counterbalance to centralized control and mitigate the risk associated with relying on single entities. He contrasts the functionality of different nodes in a network, drawing parallels to biological examples to illustrate the varying importance of network components.

The discussion progresses to the need for a shift from vertical to horizontal integration in Web 3, advocating for a decentralized and distributed approach over hierarchical systems. Task acknowledges the control, efficiency, and innovation advantages of centralized models but emphasizes resiliency as a core benefit of decentralization. He warns against overlooking the utility aspect of Web 3, suggesting that failing to address this could lead to major players intervening and potentially impeding the progression and realization of Web 3's full potential.

Task addresses the misconception of Web 3 solely revolving around network effects, emphasizing the pivotal role of utility in driving its development. He criticizes the current lack of focus on utility, cautioning that neglecting this aspect could have detrimental consequences for Web 3's advancement. He concludes by highlighting the need for a comprehensive understanding of Web 3 beyond its association with cryptocurrencies and the internet, suggesting that broader education and awareness are essential for its successful implementation and evolution.
