Expanding Appeal: LeoThreads Adding A New Element

Hive is evolving and Leofinance is one of the projects that is helping take things to new levels.

For something that stared as a blogging platform, we are seeing new levels of interaction taking place. Obviously, Splinterlands really stepped up in providing people with options outside of long-form comments. This brought one of the leading blockchain games to Hive, helping to solidify it as a leader in GameFi.

Now we see Leofinance helping to push things in another direction.

Microblogging Is The Future

The reality of the Internet is the fact that most content is not considered "serious". Certainly there are new organizations and serious bloggers who put forth content that carries ideas on important matters. Medium is full of articles that encompass this.

We see the headlines that Elon Musk is making with Twitter. He is intent on building the "everything app". One of the main premises here, in addition to the financial component he is thinking of adding, is the fact that Twitter appeals to the senseless, inane, and unimportant.

And this is where much of the Internet reigns.

Fortunately, Leofinance decided to bring microblogging similar to Twitter to Hive. At the moment, it is contained in LeoThreads. Over the next few months, we are going to see this expand a great deal. A new UI is being developed to roll this out.

This is a very important move.

Expanding Appeal

The big thing about all of this is the fact that we are looking at targeting a different group of users as compared to what was the focus of Hive before.

By developing the ability to easily microblog on Hive, we can see how many who has no interest in Hive suddenly could. The pool of users for this type of content expands rapidly. It is likely that less than 10% of the Internet is concerned about creating serious, long-form content. When it comes to the idea of "chit chat", the target audience is much bigger.

How does this benefit Hive overall?

It is vital we keep the perspective of interconnectivity between everything tied to the blockchain. The ecosystem benefits from each new users. Since our account management system allows for loggging into any application, the potential for a multi-app user exists with each new sign up.

For example, we know that Leofinance is bringing finance to the table. Not only do we discuss this, it is actually offered on BSC and Polygon. Liquidity pools are just one of the potential aspects of DeFi we can see in the future.

The potential to start offering "everything" that is housed on the Hive blockchain is possible through these applications. It appears Leofinance is embracing that concept and looking to incorporate as much as possible.

A Hundred Thousand Users

How big can microblogging be?

We know there are a few hundred million on Twitter. While the estimate of bots will vary, we know there are still a lot of "real" users. This offers a major clue as to the potential for Leofinance, specifically LeoThreads.

Hive presently has ten thousand regular users. How much different would things be with 100 thousand daily users on Hive? We could see a few million "Threads" being posted daily.

This takes engagement to an entirely new level.

Therefore, by expanding the scope of Leofinance as a platform, we see the ability to radically alter the entire foundation of Hive. This could require a couple hundred thousand account without even making a dent in the Twitter userbase.

In short, the numbers we are talking to make a major difference are miniscule in the social media realm. This is the potential that we are dealing with.

LeoThreads, or ProjectBlank more specifically, is going to change the nature of Hive. When the UI is updated and microblogging becomes a primary focus on the main page, we can see a massive switch in who it appeals to.

This could result is a massive jump in numbers.

Good take on microblogging... I'm Looking forward to see development and UI role out happening and Hopefully it's pretty soon.

We would still need to put more efforts on Twitter to bring spotlight on Leothreads after all... Which is possible through community by following the trend on Twitter or likewise.

Well, at first all eyes on UI and New shape of Leothreads! Exciting times ahead.

Always amazed, still, after all these years, of what new ways to use the hive blockchain are found. And I really like the Threads idea (and implementation)!

The big thing about all of this is the fact that we are looking at targeting a different group of users as compared to what was the focus of Hive before.

In terms of expanding appeal, I'm interested in your opinion on LeoFinance itself.

It sounds like LeoFinance is shifting focus to make microblogging the core focus.

So going from an extremely niche, finance-focused blogging platform to a completely mainstream social media platform.

As a massive LEO investor, what do you think about this shift?

I think the smart money is on those who understand and set out to incorprate the "everything app" idea. The community niche or focus can still be incorporated but applications will have to have all the features going forward. So it is a smart move.

The long form content and other aspects of the platform can maintain the focus. However, the UI being microblogging-centric is sensible.

Dear @taskmaster4450le,
Hey, your support for the previous Hive Authentication Services proposal which expired a few days ago has been much appreciated.
May I ask you to review and support the new proposal (https://peakd.com/me/proposals/240)? It only needs a few percent to be funded and your support will certainly help.br>
Thank you!

I'll love to see this become more than we can imagine. I hope we can unite the 10 thousand users here on Hive and generate SEO and clicks on note-worthy content.

We are currently facing a problem with Hive. More people are interested in taking from the system that adding.

There is no reason why 10K cant be easily reached. We have problem near that many on twitter talking about Hive.

Very true. But the reason they are talking about Hive outside of Hive is to get people interested in Hive.

A lot of the other active users on Twitter who use Hive are doing their best to get the attention of the celebrity figures who post or just attention in general from the millions of potential viewers of their tweets.

We have very few circular celebrities on Hive. But hopefully, we're getting there.

It's possible but I think the mobile app is what might add a ton of new users to the platform. I hope they also make it easy for people to sign up with a new account and it could be a game changer. With RC delegations, I think things won't be as bad.

Good points, advertising these on and off Hive is a good idea. You have enough reach to advertise on Hive. It's amazinh how much is going on here that the Hive community doesn't know about.

I personally think UI makes a huge difference.

A good UI with good threads will make the platform very addictive.
