Hive Price Running And What It Means

I figured I would do a post about the price of Hive because, well I never post about the price of Hive.

Everyone is going apesh*t with excitement. Hive is running up the charts. Finally people can believe in it.

Actually, this is wrong. Those who require the market to validate their beliefs, long-term, are going to lose money. Markets are funny animals, with minds of their own. Do not try to figure them out, they are illogical beings.

That said, those who can get the essence of where things are going can make a lot of money. Those tend to be traders. For the investor, finding quality projects that you can believe in is what is important.

So let us take a look at what is going on.

What Is Hive Going To Do?

The truth is nobody has any idea. Right now, the price is on a nice run.

Here is what it looks like according to Coingecko as these words are written.

hive price.png

That is very impressive. So where are we going from here? Will we see a dollar or will the price head back into the 50 cent range?

The answer is yes. Either scenario is equally as viable. Perhaps this is a breakout and the price keeps running. Or it could be a fakeout and a retraction in price might be in the works.

Unfortunately, tomorrow is a new day and things can change quickly. For that reason, enjoy the run while it lasts.

Let us look at a 90 day chart.

hiveprice.png

This shows the moves over the past few months. Notice how it is up and down. Even in the upward trend, there were pullbacks. That is the nature of markets. They never head straight in one direction. Even in the downward moves, there are bounces up.

Therefore, even if Hive is progressing to all time highs, we are going to see pullbacks along the way.

Price Is What You Pay, Value Is What You Get

This was a phrase that is repeatedly uttered by Warren Buffett. He is known for his search for value.

Chasing things based upon price is a fast way to lose money. Certainly experienced traders can play the waves. However, from a long-term perspective, if the value is not there, any price is an overpay.

What this means is that I do not need to look at the market for validation of my decision to be "all in" on Hive. My appraisal of the situation is all I need to be confident in my decision. As long as the other metrics were still in alignment with my overall view is, then we could keep progressing.

Much of my writing focuses upon development, larger trends and comparisons within the industry. These are the barometers that I am going by. Price is neither a confirmation or a disincentive for what I think.

It honestly have no bearing.

My presumption is that the market will wake up sooner or later, although my bet is later. Undiscovered gems can remain hidden for a long time. In the technology world, this is often an advantage. Keep progressing forward while nobody else is paying attention.

Dream About Higher Levels

Certainly it is fun to dream about higher levels and the price of Hive going to the moon. Personally I do not consider this a fruitless exercise because I believe it will happen at some point.

The advantage I see with Hive is the fact that it is not a token that gets the hype, i.e. pump. Many want this but it is unhealthy. In the end, the usual dump follows.

Instead, Hive is going to run based upon what is taking place with the development and activity. We are seeing a lot of impact from @splinterlands. Is this what is causing the run? There is no way to tell.

However, when we look at some of the projects that are being developed, it is easy to see how we can end up with a number of applications or games doing the same thing. It will take some time just like it did with Splinterlands but we will get there.

So are we heading for 20? $50? $100? Only time will tell. What we do know is that if more projects get rolled out that are based upon decentralization and distribution, then we will see adoption taking place.

It is a grind at the moment. This is the phase we are in. However, there will come a point where development is happening at such a pace that we cannot keep up. There will be a lot of things feeding into Hive.

Therefore, keep dreaming of much higher prices. The Age of Abundance is upon us and we are going to see a lot of wealth generated here.

For now, enjoy the run. We will see where things go from here.

You mean HBD will be 100 US pennies right?

But yeah, $10 HIVE would be GREAT.

I'd surely get myself a cleaning lady, pay my mom to babysit while I go to yoga, and get my basement encased.

Then I'll blog about how clean my house is, how nice yoga is, and write all about my basement and earn enough HIVE to do more awesome things to do and write about the next month.

No!

Let's just be ready, im tired of people saying they aren't ready for big dollar HIVE yet!

Maybe we are slowing the growth by saying we aren't ready.

That said, 13 cent HIVE would send me on another HIVE shopping spree - that was the price that got me to double dolphin status and I would not mind being an orca.

I really want to enjoy Hive's "nice" run. Unfortunately, I haven't powered down yet so I have no Hive to sell but that's fine too. Who knows, I might be able to enjoy a much better price in the future.

It's ok, enjoy the higher upvote value you give and enjoy the higher value upvotes which will pay you in HBD - then you never have to power down.

To truly earn from cryptocurrency, you must be ready to invest on a long run and be patient. If you are looking to jump into it when you see a boom, that simply shows that you know nothing about crypto

Investing is making a decision and waiting patiently, then you make large amounts of money in a very short amount of time.

Hive :D I have no clue really. Im liking the look of Alice (my neighbour alice) but the game is not ready for at least 4 months. Ecash is flying but not sure about long term fundamentals. Im excited mostly about game currencies, but also the DOT and Solana potential. There are a lot of interesting things at the moment but i really think it might be wise to stick to the big ones like Ethereum and BNB. I want XMR to have a big future and to be fair i like Bitcoin Cash a lot too and lite coin. Mana decentraland also. Not too sure on anything else, Cosmos and Rune maybe. Xrp also might have big gains ahead of it even though it is somewhat out of the limelight recently. Id stick to the things that people actually use right now, XRP could disappear tomorrow and it would have no impact on the world i dont think. Maybe the thing id recommend the most is actually XYO, my friend recommended it to me and as iv been watching it it seems to be in a stealth bull run. Very cheap and could hit a dollar in years to come. I have a ton of Wanchain but honestly that is a coin flip, it might pull some serious surprises but i think institutional money hates it for some reason im not smart enough to know about.

Over $1 already I have to say I'm surprise at how fast and how solid the run has been. I'm curious what change or how it's being pulled at the moment to really see what's going on.

Either way congrats to hive on $1 finally Next LEO again

Well, it hit the 1$ rather nicely, the issue is whether it will hold, it might for some hours, the run feels too bursting, maybe it might correct later to 0.85 or so, later

Yes, unless this keeps going straight to $2 or $3, I don't see it holding here for long. I DO think the fundamentals are starting to get too strong though for it to go back down below 50 cents. It's crypto so anything is possible but the early stages of this run felt different from past pumps. I could see 60-80 cents though as a settling range for the short term. Then as more of these things come on line, it starts working it's way over $1, just like it worked it's way from 30 cents to 60 cents; nice and steady.

But, all things considered, I completely agree with you. Price doesn't matter. I'm not selling any below $10 anyway so whether it takes a day or a couple years, I'm in for the duration. Until I can sell less than half to make a meaningful difference in my life, I probably won't sell any.

Good news.

But considering where some other coins are at, I see no reason Hive can't be much more. Solana for example has a comparable supply to Hive, yet it's up to like $130 or something.

I am wondering what will happen to those people converting HIVE into HBD even with the 5% cut since I think their conversions will net less HBD. Then again, I guess they still win in terms of HBD since HBD is still elevated but it may of been better to hold HIVE.

I agree price means nothing to me as the value is in the stake and by holding it. It is good to see mind you so don't get me wrong but long term it makes no difference as we are still on a journey and there are bigger targets ahead. One step at a time and we knew this was coming as it had to.

Nice, $0.80 USD

I don't check the HIVE price often but that's a nice jump in price. Another app or two with the success that reaches near Splinterlands and I expect more price jumps.

Yes, it's exciting to see some very tall green candles for Hive... but as you say, things go up and things go down.

I'm a very "old fashioned" investor in the sense that I don't really care much about charts and chart watching and "timing the market" (a lost cause, if you ask me), I care primarily about whether or not an investment makes sense.

To me, Hive makes sense as a blockchain based property because there's lots of activity and development, and that means use cases and subsequently the continuation of the blockchain as an attractive environment for people of many interests to get involved with. Markets aside, things tend to reach "critical mass" at some point when there has been too much "one-way traffic" for too long. When demand outstrips supply, prices go up. When Hive has a bunch of use cases that require holding Hive then the demand for Hive is high, and will drive the price up.

I have no idea how long nor when this critical mass is happening... but I am holding my bag in the belief that there will come a time when the demand pressure for the Hive token could push it to $5, $10, $25, $100? Who knows.

Long game. Always a long game.

=^..^=
