Leofinance: Be Ballsy Like Elon Musk

The Leofinance Discord was hacked and taken down. The team is hard at work putting it back togther. After all, rebuilding it is the most important thing.

Or that is what we are led to believe. But is it?

Obviously, communication tools are important. However, it is a bit ridiculous that we talk about Web 3.0 yet keep ourselves firmly planted in a Web 2.0 world.

Certainly, there are some tools that havent been developed yet. However, if we took this approach years ago, would we have the infrastructure in place to do what is needed. We cannot answer that because most of the Web 3.0 world is nothing more than Web 2.0 with talking points.

Hive is a social media platform. We can engage without the use of the traditional mediums. Of course, there are certain features that are not available and that may require Web 2.0 usage. That said, outside of those instances, we should avoid it at all costs.

On Leofinance we discuss the "Everything App". This is something that we are modeling. If, however, we want to get ahead, perhaps we look to another Elon approach for insight.

Going All In

Tesla is the largest electric vehicle manufacturer in the word. Many are claiming the technology is far ahead (like years) of the competition. It could be a situation where this is game over for legacy auto before they even enter.

What made Tesla so special? One thing we can point to is the commitment it made. The company went all in on electric vehicles. It did not mess with hybrid or work on ICE at all. From the start, it was electric only.

Of course, 15 years ago, this was a very risky proposition. In fact, we could say that it was putting the company on the path to failure. With such high stakes, the payoff had to be worth it. As it turns out, it was.

The decision was not a half measure move. It was all or nothing. This is how success is often achieved. Those who try to take a half-assed approach find themselves serving two masters. It is like the story of the general who, in the face of a superior army, ordered the ships burned. In other words, there was no turning back.

Why Isn't Web 3.0 Taking Off?

There are obviously a number of reasons we can point to. One is that nobody has really taken the ballsy approach of severing most ties to Web 2.0. As I stated in another article, is there a Twitter discord?

Isn't it ironic that Web 3.0 platforms seem to believe they need Web 2.0 to succeed. I know the mantra is that we want to harvest users from those platforms. However, the question is how is that working out? Looking at the numbers on Hive, it doesn't appear to be every effective.

The question is there a commitment to Web 3? We pay it a lot of lip service but do we actually believe that? Our focus seems to tell a different story. We appear to talk about it on Discord, YouTube, and Twitter.

We are dealing with the "attention economy". Where are the eyeballs going? This is a game of shifting from one to the other. Every minute that is spent on Web 3.0 takes time away from the traditional platforms.

This is the social media aspect of our tranformation. It is no different than defi. Each dollar that is removed from TradFi is a shift.

Will Leofinance take the plunge? Is it going to build the features into its platform that are required or keep using the Web 2.0 infrastructure.

After all, why would we post in Twitter than share on Threads? Does that make sense? Shouldn't it be posted on Threads and then shared on Twitter?

Perhaps were are to the point where we burn the ships and go all on.
