Yeah. I think he is still upset that he was resoundingly rejected for the board. Few supported him.

I wonder if he is trying to lower the price so he can buy more. With these fund managers, one should always take it with a grain of salt. I wonder how his current portfolio looks.

It seems these money managers are always looking at the return since that is what they are rated upon. Thus, since he is holding a fair bit of stock, he is want to have a good year, since the stock is down so far, he needs it to go up over the other 9.

He risks losing investors if he has a negative return especially if the S&P is up.

Detailed Article:
Task starts by acknowledging the recent commentary by Ross Gerber regarding Elon Musk, expressing his disapproval of Gerber's views and branding him as a complainer and whiner. Task mentions that while some people closely monitor Gerber's actions related to Tesla stock, he personally doesn't pay much attention to it due to the various requirements that funds have, emphasizing the difference in viewpoints between him and those like Gerber and Gary Black.

He debunks Gerber's claim that Elon is negatively impacting Tesla's brand, pointing out that Tesla recently had a record quarter and year despite facing challenges such as a terrorist attack at their German plant and a difficult quarter ahead. Task criticizes Gerber for attributing all of Tesla's issues to Elon, highlighting the lack of insight on Gerber's part regarding the broader automotive industry, especially contrasting Tesla's performance in China with Volkswagen's decline.

Task further criticizes Gerber's limited understanding of Tesla's operations, questioning his expertise in areas like innovation, engineering, logistics, AI, and other aspects crucial to Tesla's business. He stresses the importance of having a deep understanding of all these elements in running a successful tech company like Tesla, suggesting that Gerber may not grasp the full scope of what goes into running such a complex business.

Task emphasizes the evolving landscape of CEO behavior, indicating a trend towards more vocal and attention-grabbing leadership to attract investors and customers in a highly competitive environment. He cites Reed Hastings of Netflix as an example of a CEO who might need to step up in response to these challenges. In conclusion, Task highlights the importance of CEOs being able to draw attention to their companies in order to stay competitive in an increasingly crowded market.

In essence, Task's analysis revolves around critiquing Ross Gerber's commentary about Elon Musk and Tesla, emphasizing the intricate nature of running a tech company like Tesla and the evolving expectations placed on CEOs in today's business environment.
