Tesla Is Doing What Apple Did
Do not think just because legacy auto built cars, they are destined to control the EV market. Nokia and Motorola were late to the smartphone market. That was catastrophic.
In this video I discuss how we are seeing a parallel. The scaling of legacy auto simply isnt there.

Tesla cars are used as taxi in my city 😂
I don't think being late to market was what hurt Nokia and Motorola the most. It was failure to produce a phone that was as good as the competition. Other phone makers have entered late and succeeded though I don't doubt that it makes it more challenging. Electric car adoption has not been as fast as smartphone adoption so I think auto makers have more time. Also, in theory, building an electric car really should be easier than building legacy autos with battery technology being the key.
I may be proven wrong, but I think most legacy automakers will adapt and survive.
Motorola still makes phones. I saw the price difference and specs and decided to get one to replace my old phone earlier this year. They decided to jump onto the Android bandwagon so I think they are behind in the game for sure.
