Warren Buffett Buying Tesla?

▶️ Watch on 3Speak

This is something that, if true, could really reframe how Tesla is viewed as a stock.

In this video I discuss the speculation that Warren Buffett might be buying Tesla stock. There will be no confirmation until we get the Q4 filings next quarter. However, it was revealed that Buffett sold some of his holdings in Chinese EV maker BYD. THis does not mean he is piling into Tesla.

Nevertheless, his lightening his holdings there has many pondering if Buffett is taking a look at Tesla. Earlier this week we had Buffett confidant, Charlie Munger, praising Musk and Tesla.

It's way too much speculation but I don't know if getting into Tesla would be Buffet's decision right now. I would think that he wouldn't buy into Tesla right now because Elon's focus has been on Twitter and I think there are a lot of investors worried about how Tesla is going.

Summary:
In this video, the speaker discusses the speculation surrounding Warren Buffett potentially buying Tesla shares. He starts by mentioning Buffett's previous investments in Chinese EV maker BYD and his recent sell-off of BYD stock. The speaker touches on how Buffett's investment in Tesla would be significant news due to Buffett's value investing approach and his previous avoidance of tech companies. Speculation arises from Buffett's actions regarding BYD and the possibility of a shift in his investment strategy towards Tesla. The speaker emphasizes that this is all speculation and that concrete information will only be available after Berkshire Hathaway's filings in the upcoming months.

Detailed Article:
The video delves into the speculation surrounding Warren Buffett's potential interest in acquiring Tesla shares, stemming from his history of investments and recent activity with BYD. The speaker mentions how Warren Buffett, known for his value investing style, has been associated with the Chinese company BYD, which is not solely an EV maker but also manufactures batteries and hybrids. Despite Buffett's long-standing involvement with BYD, there has been a recent selling of BYD stock starting in September, leading to rumors and speculation about Buffett's potential interest in Tesla.

The discussion points out that Warren Buffett's investment in Tesla would mark a significant shift in his traditional investment approach as he typically avoids tech companies, citing a lack of understanding in their business models. However, if Buffett were to invest in Tesla, it would suggest that he sees fundamental value in the company that the market might be overlooking. The speaker emphasizes that if Buffett is indeed considering Tesla, it indicates that he believes the company is undervalued rather than overvalued, contrary to popular opinions about Tesla's valuation compared to other car companies.

Furthermore, the video addresses the timing of when concrete information about Buffett's potential investment in Tesla might surface, highlighting the need to wait for Berkshire Hathaway's filings in the upcoming months for clarity. The speaker also speculates that if Buffett were to invest in Tesla, it could be due to factors beyond Tesla's automotive sector, potentially looking at the company's energy segment for value.

Overall, the video provides insights into the implications of Warren Buffett considering an investment in Tesla, highlighting the significance of such a move given Buffett's investment principles and historical preferences. The speaker's analysis offers a thoughtful perspective on the possible reasons driving Buffett's interest in Tesla and how it might impact both Tesla's stock and the broader market sentiment once official information is disclosed in the future.
