▶️ Watch on 3Speak

The Tesla Semi is coming.

In this video I discuss how the Semi is being delivered starting on Dec 1. While there is a forecast of 50K delivered in 2024, we had no idea of the scaling. Now we see how many are being targeted for the end of the year.

That is why it is important to get them in the real world. It is still a proof of concept.

We need to get real world feedback.

The Tesla semi was delayed for so long. I just wonder how well they will perform on the road and I wonder if the battery can even last long enough. Those truck drivers will be driving for long periods of time and sitting down to recharge a few times a day might seem a bit annoying.

Well if they are getting 500 miles, that is near what the daily limit is for the drivers. One charge up while at lunch, they could reach their daily allotment.

However, we have to see what it looks like in the real world.

Summary:
In this video, Task discusses recent developments concerning the Tesla Semi truck, particularly focusing on the upcoming delivery of the first vehicles to Pepsi. He mentions that production has started in Nevada with a current output of 5 Semis per week, but the goal is to reach 100 deliveries by the end of 2023. Task highlights the significance of the Tesla Semi in the company's efforts to promote renewable energy and reduce pollution, emphasizing its potential impact compared to traditional cars due to the emission levels of diesel trucks. He also touches on the financial aspects, mentioning the expected cost of each Semi and its contribution to Tesla's overall revenue.

Detailed Article:
Task's video delves into the latest developments around the Tesla Semi, a project that has faced delays since its unveiling in 2017. The focal point of the discussion is the impending delivery of the first Tesla Semi trucks to Pepsi, scheduled for December 1st. Task mentions that the exact number of Semis to be delivered remains undisclosed, leaving room for speculation on whether it will be a single unit or multiple vehicles.

The production of the Tesla Semi has commenced at the factory in Nevada, with an initial output of 5 Semis per week, translating to a projected 250 vehicles annually. Task points out the substantial scaling required to meet the ambitious target set for 2024, aiming for 50,000 Tesla Semi trucks. This production milestone poses a significant challenge considering the current production rate in Nevada and the subsequent transfer of production to Austin to accommodate multiple vehicle lines.

Looking ahead, Task reveals the company's goal to deliver 100 Tesla Semi trucks by the end of 2023, indicating a gradual ramp-up in production. Despite the relatively small number, this milestone signifies progress in scaling up production and fine-tuning operations. Task highlights the financial implications, estimating the price range of the Tesla Semi trucks to be between $150,000 and $200,000 per unit. This pricing structure, compared to Tesla's average vehicle revenue, underscores the niche market and revenue potential associated with the Tesla Semi project.

Moreover, Task emphasizes the larger environmental impact of the Tesla Semi trucks compared to traditional cars, emphasizing their role in promoting renewable energy and reducing pollution, particularly given the higher emissions associated with diesel-powered trucks. The discussion underscores Tesla's broader mission to revolutionize transportation and drive the shift towards sustainable energy solutions.

In conclusion, Task maintains a cautious optimism towards Tesla's progress with the Semi truck project, acknowledging that tangible deliveries to customers like Pepsi will be the ultimate validation of the company's efforts. The video serves as a comprehensive overview of the current status of the Tesla Semi project, shedding light on production challenges, revenue considerations, and the broader environmental implications of Tesla's foray into semi-truck manufacturing.
