A leisurely stroll in a winter park

Greetings, friends, my story of today's walk turned out to be surprisingly monotonous. It can't be helped, it was exactly like that: on a cloudy day in a winter park it is difficult to find unique and diverse objects. Everywhere you look there is only snow and bare tree branches. Everything is black and white. Some branches are more brown than black, but that is the end of the color palette of winter. Only the benches in the winter park are green.

Although the winter landscape is monotonous, the eyes never tire of admiring the subtle sophistication of the lines. Graceful curves, slopes, half arches - all these graphic attributes are noticeable only in winter. It is especially pleasant to walk along narrow paths, each turn of which reveals a new section of the landscape.

I was not very lucky with the paths on this walk: the central alleys of the park are cleared by snowplows and well rolled, but the narrow paths are still mostly hidden under the freshly fallen snow. Snow has been falling for several days in a row, and there is a lot of snow this year. The paths are not trampled yet. Once I noticed a narrow path going off to the side, but it led me to the houses on the edge of the park. I had to go back to the wide avenue.

I noticed colored streaks on some of the trees as I walked down this path. I think these are markers of ski trails that will be coming up soon. The first trails have already appeared, but the real ski season is yet to come.

I have been walking in a large park in the northern district of the city. This park is called Udelny Park. According to legend, the area now occupied by the park was once set aside for the cultivation of ship pines. Thus, the forested area in the city was left untouched.

I chose this park specifically to walk along the winter paths, admire the nature and breathe in the fresh air. The air in this park is really very fresh and very clean. But there are almost no park pavilions and park sculpture in this park. Bird feeders, benches, a transformer box, swings... From interesting architectural objects it is possible to allocate only the arch under an embankment, but to it I approached already in the end of walk. This arch separates the far narrow part of the park, adjacent to the residential buildings.

Some interesting infrastructure can be found in the summer. One of the paths of the park is part of an ancient trade route, and stone paving has been preserved there. In addition, on the outskirts of the park you can find the remains of the dismantled railway line (only sleepers are preserved from it). But now it is all covered with snow.

Another interesting object is located in the center of the park. This is a low earthen ledge, which serves as a slide for sledging in the winter. This terrace was once the shore of the ancient sea. The other shore of this sea you and I once saw much further south, in the yards of old buildings in the historic part of the city.

When I came out of the park, it was dusk, and the lanterns began to light up. The light from the lanterns reflected off the purest white snow and complemented the fading light of the winter day.

This is so beautiful! I wonder what it's like to be in a snowy place. I think that's very cold. But there's no winter in my country. 😅

Btw, thanks for sharing these amazing pictures. Have a great day! 😊

If there is no wind and you dress warmly, it is almost not cold. A lot depends on the right clothes, it's really important.
Thank you very much! Have a great day!
