a few Planes

a few Planes

Good Morning
I recently was watching something on TV and it referred to the comedy movie from the 80's Planes Trains and automobiles which inspired me to go to the small airport here and get a few shots of planes which I am sharing today

it also got me thinking about trains and thats something I would love to get shots of again but I think in the three years i have lived here I have only ever seen one train, but soon the train to Boston apparently should start running so maybe then I can complete the three planes trains and automobiles, but for today lets talk about planes

Starting with this shot of a Cape Air plane, I believe they fly to Marthas Vineyard and Nantucket from here

Next up this small plane, I think it is a plane used by a flight training school here

a jet coming into land

I see from this shot it is a Citation and looks to be a private or leased plane I guess no company name on it

Now this one I am certain is used for flight training as I saw it do a lot of touch down and take offs while I was there

another one taxing out to take off not sure again who this plane flys with as I prepared this post
I looked it up and it had just flown from Michigan to Minnesota

Those are awesome! The Cape Air one makes me think of the old TV show "Wings". I think that took place on Nantucket and much of it happened at the airport there. It was a great sitcom. My dad used to go and take a lot of photos at airports, but they started being picky about stuff like that after 9/11. He has a flight simulator setup in his office, so he has always been fascinated with planes.

I am not sure I ever saw that show Yeah thats why I am somewhat hesitant about going to take photos at larger airports

thats cool your dad has a flight sim setup

Oh, it's quite involved. He has spent a lot of money on that hobby. It's like a real cockpit in his office!

These are wonderful pictures. I do wonder if the aircrafts were all coming in succession or you had to wait a while?
Regardless, I think it's amazing that you were able to capture them. They look quite nice and there are a lot of movies, I've seen planes like this. I do hope to see pictures of trains soon enough.🌺

Now that's a fun idea! Finding new small airports to photograph might be a fun thing to do, too. Now that'd be a road trip!

I've taken the train to from Wilmington to Boston before, and from Newark to New York. It's really an enjoyable ride; I personally much prefer train travel over plane.

Great captures on movement of planes coming and going, connecting a large country in style. Pilots will always be in demand whether large or small planes.

For moment thought going back in time "Those Magnificent Men In Their Flying Machines" - You Tube !LOLZ

I got sick of plane travel after travelling so much for many years, but I still love seeing them and almost miss flying again

LOL love that movie

Early years I loved it, later it became a nightmare with them making planes so packed in with tiny seating which is not comfortable at all.

yeah exactly and on long flights the cramped space seems ot get smaller as the flight continues LOL

I'm not a big fan of airplanes
(Because suffering from vertigo and anxiety 😵‍💫)
but we must recognize the wonder and complexity of the planes, the photos are incredible ✈️

Great shots of some airplanes at your small airport. I would like to see your skills at a full pledged air show. I bet you would catch them well :)

I'd love to fly to Martha's Vineyard. How did that place get it name again? Was it to named for the mother-in-law or daughter, both named Martha, of the English explorer Bartholomew Gosnold, who led the first recorded European expedition to Cape Cod in 1602? I took that from Wiki, hehehe!
Have a great day, @tattoodjay !

If you look at these photos, you can say that our country lives at the beginning of the last century. Now for us to see a small plane is just a curiosity. Although there have never been such small planes in the USSR and in the Russian Federation, except for the aircraft of the first half of the 20th century.

I have seen private jets that look like they are from the 80s many times at the airport. The photo of the plane flying in the air is wonderful.
