a few random images taken in Hazelwood Park

a few random images taken in Hazelwood Park

Good morning all, I hope life is treating you well and wishing you a good day.

for todays post I am going to share a few shots I took on a stroll in Hazelwood Park here in New Bedford, a nice park with views out over West beach and not to far from our grand daghters school, which is how I happened to have time to visit there, I was heading to pick up Zoey from school when she texted me to say she had club that day and wouldnt be ready to be picked up for an hour or so, so Decided since I had my camera bag with me to take a stroll in the park, and am sharing a random selection of shots I got that day

Starting with this shot of the bark of a tree with some paint and nails, not sure what the purpose of them was but it caught my eye

I do love being around trees and enjoy bothte view of them from afar, from under them, or looking at the cool patterns of the bark, I have even been known to hug a tree now and again.
did you know that research shows that spending time around trees can reduce stress, improve immunity, lower blood pressure, and accelerate recovery from illness or trauma. Furthermore, when you hug a tree, you release a hormone called oxytocin – known as the hormone of love and trust – which gives you that warm, fuzzy feeling.

but that said I am not as agile a tree hugger as squirrels are such as this fellow

hmm maybe there is a kind of theme for this post as so far the shots are all on or of trees such as this leave

Ah walks in the park are my jam!

I head to this one a few times a week with the dog. I take the same shot from the same place every time i go and am going to combine them all into an animated gif that shows the changes of all seasons when winter comes again.

Love those parks shots!

not sure what the purpose of them was but it caught my eye

I think the nails were meant to be a face. Two eyes, a nose, and three on the bottom for a mouth.

The squirrel didn't seem very interested in you?

That is interesting that they would put a fire hydrant in the middle of the park. I wonder if there used to be a structure close that warranted it. Nice shots as always and it sounds like it was the perfect way to kill some time while you were waiting for your grand daughter!

I did wonder the same about the hydrant, there was no sign of any structures having bene anywhere near it but maybe there was and they are long gone

Fun random shots. I like to lay under trees and look up into the canopy. Very peaceful.

I to love looking up through the canopies of trees, but mostly standing, my achy knees find it hard getting up if I lay down LOL

Nice report from the park. By the way, it's funny, the squirrel is gray and merges with the tree. A fire hydrant in the middle of a park is smart! It's actually the first time I've seen this.
