For all those that thought from the title of this post I was going to be sharing photos of fit looking life guard's I will start with apology as that is not the case, the subject for today is where they work on Lifeguard towers.
When I visit beach's that have lifeguard towers I am drawn to take photos of them, perhaps as in my later teens I worked as a lifeguard for a couple of seasons, or perhaps because they add a subject to the beach

Now I am not sure if I have shared this story before so if I have and you have read it I do apologize.
Back when I was 15 I think, I used to be big into sport at school particularly rugby, but as I was small for my age, i felt i needed to be real fit to do my best in the game, so I used to get up most days around 4AM, sneak quietly out of the house and ride about 2 Miles to the beach, I would then swim maybe a mile down the beach and back, then hope out and do around a five mile run before heading home.
Well most mornings when I did this I was the only one on the beach, but one day there was a group swimming in the water, so I just swam out past them and did my normal routine.
As I was finishing my run and heading to my bicycle I was approached by one of the swimmers and he was the head of the Surf Life saving group there and asked do I do the morning swim often I said every day and then I somehow let him talk me into joining the group and getting some training on Life guard skills and that I didn't swimming fitness training clearly.
I do remember fondly the two or three years I was a lifeguard and the funny thing is even though I say that I have a fascination with taking photos of the life guard towers for that reason, the one role i hated was sitting or standing on a lifeguard tower watching the swimmers at the beach, I liked even back then to be moving and not sitting still and would rather be walking or jogging back and forth along the beach, being ready if needed.

What an interesting and emotional story that unites you with these beautiful life-saving towers. I always liked this activity, but unfortunately I have never been a great swimmer.

I like your way of looking at things. The tower fits very well into the landscape. This requires not only observation, but also the ability to think subtly.
Did you see a lot of action while you were a life guard? It's okay if you don't want to answer, I totally understand. I'm just curious if it was pretty run of the mill stuff or did you ever have to go full on Bay Watch? :) Awesome shots as always!
Facinating life guard tower pics. There is something about the towers on an empty beach. Maybe a longing for summer. Cool story about your stint as a life guard. I fancied myself an athlete growing up but never put in that much work 😊
Even if you hated sitting there, it's only normal that seeing the tower takes you back to the other activities too. It's great that you are still getting out for walks :)
not gettingout much at the moment to cold in the mornings for me, but keeping active by doing VR workouts that get my blood pumping
Hopefully you can get the right gear to start enjoying it eventually. So long as you don't stop too long!
