A mono start to the week

A mono start to the week

Good Morning all, Wishing you all a good week ahead

as I am in the habit I am sticking with a Mono post to start the week.

When I retired and stopped working in NYC and then moved here to New Bedford one thing I thought I wouldn't see here was cobblestone streets like I had seen in NYC, I was pleasantly surprised when I took a walk around the Historic district here in New Bedford, and I know I have shared shots of them before but when I took a walk there recently looking for a couple of art pieces I have shared recently I walked this area and could not resist getting some new shots.

And I edited this set all in Mono which for me fits well with cobblestone streets

The first shot is as I was walking up from the port where I had parked and was glad in the early morning there weren't to many cars in view to give away the old time feel of mono images

they look so cool but can really shake up ones car when driving over them if you don't take it slowly

this second shot is when I had walked up the street a bit and looked back towards the port

and one of the side streets off tot he right is Custom House Square where one of the art pieces the door was located

Same street from the other end

and to finish off this post another cobblestone street in the same area

And that’s all folks

I loved these pics. There is something about the old time feel of the cobblestone streets. We didn't have any cobblestone where I was from in my hometown in Indiana, but the old streets had brick. Most had been paved over, but some streets still had had parts that they shown through. I always thought it was kind of cool.

You're welcome! Those cobblestone reminds me of a heritage site that looks like a Spanish pueblo about 80 miles north of my place that I once visited of which it is based on its past during the Spanish conquest.

Beautiful pictures, they remind me of some of the cobblestone streets that were left in the city where I was born in Argentina. Many memories came to my mind.

The antique feel of the photos together with the monochromatic tonality is ideal.

Thank you!✨

Those shots are awesome and the mono fits them very well. It's almost like they were made for that sort of thing. I live near a town named Saginaw where they are currently in the process of laying bricks down on one of the main streets. I think they are hoping it will revitalize the downtown area. I am skeptical. Perhaps if they had used cobblestones instead... :)

I do believe I did visit Saginaw on one of my visits there
in my homes town back in NZ they colse doff an area a couple of streets and made it just for pedestrians with bricks layed down I liked the idea

That is pretty cool. We have downtown areas that close during the summer and then open back up after the weather turns. It allows people to get out and about in the downtown area.

I do believe I did visit Saginaw on one of my visits there

I'm sorry :)
