Church or Chapel in St Johns Cemetery

Church or Chapel in St Johns Cemetery

For this post I am sharing a few shots of the Chapel in St Johns cemetery, I have done a few posts in Mono in this cemetery, but I thought this quaint little church looked better in color

I haven't found out much about the building other than it was built around the 1930's, but I like it and thought it was worth making a post with images just of it.

I will be sharing shots of it from two visits to the cemetery

I love the style of this chapel with the brickwork

And now onto y second visit on a foggy morning

funny thing is even though its a foggy morning the colors of the chapel stand out more in this shot or perhaps I boosted the saturation a bit more than I should have :)

and from another perspective

Now the last three shots I messed up a bit , I had been somewhere else taking photos and had been using my tripod and had the ISO set to 100, I should have switched to auto ISO for handheld images as I general try to have a shutter speed faster than 1/60 or 1/125 for handheld shooting, but luckily with the camera and lens stabilization they came out OK

Now this last image I debated whether to add to this post or not as I wasn't sure what I think about it, so even though it was taken on the same day as the first few images, I held off on adding it till now, but since I have edited and exported it am slipping it in at the end of the post

And that’s all folks

unless stated otherwise all photos used in my posts are taken and owned by myself, if you wish to use any of my images please contact me.

Cool chapel. Looks great in the fog. Classic design and the brick work really make it stand out.

These are great shots, there is a beauty to what you regard to a mistake. The sky looks really great in the first two images, I can imagine myself flying close to that.

What a cool little building! I bet it has gotten a lot of use over the years. I wonder what it looks like on the inside. It would have been cool if they had been able to do a bit more with the doors. The newer doors really stand out against the older aspect of the building.

I would love to see the inside sometime I must check out if it when it is open to visit

And yes I agree about the doors

I guess it is possible they only have it open when there is a funeral taking place, so it might be better if you aren't able to get in! :)
