Graffiti on the QueQuechan River Rail trail

Graffiti on the QueQuechan River Rail trail

I few months back I decided to head to Fall River a city not to far from where i live for a morning walk, I went to one spot first and it looked a bit shady with some dubious looking people about so I drove on and decided to chekc out the Quequechan River Rail trail instead, and there was some interesting Graffiti there which I will share in this post.

I enjoyed the wealk on the rail I was there early morning before and during sunrise so it was fairly dark at the time but I did enjoy the walk, but in a couple of spots I did see soem drug Paraphenalia laying around and some odd noises coming from behind some trees, but I have bene to many rough areas around the world over the years and thought it was all cool.

But when I shared some photos of the trail on Farcebook, I had a few friends and contacts message me saying are you crazy going there when its stil dark, apparently most of the locals avoid that area whenits dark and many even when it is daylight, and I have bene tempted to thing their just being over cautious and its fine and to go bakc and see more of the trail, but thus far I havent gone bakc there yet

This first shot is to show part of the trail and where the graffiti art is

Some is more tagging style such as this one

and this one

And some is in my minds eye more artistic such as this character and as I posted this I notice the words scarys Lane, thats what one person told me they called this area and that they had friends mugged there, now i never carry a lot of cash if unsure of an area, and used to think thats cool then even if I get mugged it snot much money, but then I think about my camera gear which they could make good money selling off so perhaps its good to be sensible

Cool lettering! great colors. And I love the spray can characters. I like to walk in the morning also. I remember walking though sketchy areas in the early morning when I lived in California. I was always convinced nothing bad happened until 10am or noon lol late at night in the dark is scary but early morning usually not much going on

It's great that you were able to have that experience, without any problems :) I could definitely imagine muggers being interested in your camera gear, unfortunately. If you go back, it might be better to only take the cheapest basics.

Best to be safe if you are unsure of the area. I've been to a couple places where I wondered if I might get mugged, but it never happened. I always like how bright the colors are in this type of art.

What a nice mix of when nature reclaims urban. A visual tale. It does look a little sketch on the best of days tho, I personally wouldn't go alone but to each our own. There are some pretty good stray art hidden on random walls and train cars, not all but you managed to find some gems. The devil kitty is funny.

As for the drug paraphernalia, it's probably everywhere these days. Here too.

I used to go anywhere on my own and not be worried, only ever got mugged once and hat was 40 years ago LOL , I guess with age I am gettign more cautious

OMG, those are pretty good odds! Luck is on your side 😁

It used to be in back alleys and concentrated certain parts of town where services where offered. Here in Canada we have what they call safe injection sites that are regulated and monitored by healthcare staff along with resources to get clean available to combat contaminated drugs and overdoses but now it's moved into suburbia and the regular sidewalk. I have to watch where I step to go take wait for the bus after doing groceries. They have this new stuff, Tranq. It looks pretty bad.

The colors of the graffiti look so vibrant and pretty. These are some really good photos

In my opinion, graffiti does not decorate the urban landscape too much.

The street art is amazing and to think that this same place houses such beautiful works of art and muggers.

Man, I wish we had people doing nice graffiti like that in my area! My wife and I went for a walk a few months ago and saw some street art/graffiti, but nothing nearly as nice as this stuff.
