Lets do another Monday with Mono edits

Lets do another Monday with Mono edits

I thought I would start the week with a Mono post again this week, I wasn't planning to originally, but when I went out for my Saturday mornings walk it was cloudy and moody and took a couple of shots that worked best in mono, and i will get to those but before I do if you sawthis post on the Nantucket Lightship you may remember I mentioned doing a mono edit of the ship but did not think it fitted well for that post so let me start with that one

When I shared the post on the Nantucket lightship and researching its history I found it very interesting as I didn't know such ships existed and was interested to note a few others mentioned they had never heard of them either.

But now back to Saturday, as I said it was a nice morning for a walk temperature wise, infract nicer than I expected I was wearing a hoody and jacket, and had to unzip them both and was still sweating away as I walked, but that's good I am trying to loose some weight so that has to help, it was a grey and moody morning so I didn't take to many photos but here is a couple I took.

I park at a point in the middle (Ish) of the Cove walk, and this morning I walked to one end first and took this shot

And walked the full Cove walk to the other end for this shot, I timed my walk so I would be at this end about half an hour before sunrise as its a better spot to catch the sunrise colors, but that morning the clouds won the day and hid the sun and any of the color sit wanted to share

this next shot is of the Rotch-Jones-Duff House and Garden Museum here in New Bedford

and to finish off a bench and trach can holder in Buttonwood Park

The first one might look perfect in sepia? Same goes for the bench but it somehow looks like it's from a different dimension or something like it is.

Is it Mono Monday again? Time flies so fast at the moment.

Yeah, on gray and dull days photos can look better in monochrome, such as the dramatic sky over the beach or this old lightship and the house look much better in your monochrome photos than in color, I believe.
Antique things or dramatic scenes look better in black&white anyway in my eyes.

!BEER and !WINE - both make a nice dinner with !PIZZA :)

Yes I agree antique things like buildings and cars look better in Mono I do believe

I hope your week is starting well, I tried new shoes this morning well not new shoes once I had bought a year or so ago and seldom wore, I know why now they have very little traction, slipped on a rock wall and had a nice fall, saved the camera but a gash out of one arm, and I think I broke a finger saving the camera, straightened it out and taped it up so all is good

!PIZZA and !BEER - sounds like a nice dinner :)

Oh yes, save the camera, it is more important than your health - I think we are all the same 😂

I can't tell you how often I slipped and fell but apart from little scratches I have never got hurt and also not my camera, except one screw on filter that saved my 70-200 lens.

I am so glad that you didn't get hurt more, JJ, the broken finger will heal and until the pain is gone, I am sure you will not forget to take more care ... or never wear these shoes again 😉

I have had a busy Monday but I'm at home now. The sun is shining and it's not too cold 🙂

Hope your week has started well too, apart from the little accident 🌞

Sun is shining and not to cold sounds good to me :)

Yeah over the years I have had many slips and falls, and this is a small one just I must be getting older and feel it more, the aches slowly worse and due to blood thinners harder to stop the bleeding but I think I have it under control

!BEER and !PIZZA - nice 😃

Yep, we are getting older and injuries I wouldn't even have mentioned some years ago hurt nowadays - the older the bones the easier they break.
Take care mate 🙂

Mondays are made for Monochrome! I am impressed with the edit of the Nantucket Lightsip, I probably would not have chosen to do it that way, but, it works! I never think of mono, yet it creates a mood of its own. A wonderful spin around the cove that morning, offering up light that enhanced your daily shots.

Good morming!

sorry for short comment, I have discovered when it comes to typing not being able to use the two fingers I have taped up slows me down LOL

I missed something. Now I need to go back and look. Did you break/sprain your findgers? Don't answer. I am sending out a search party.

Give up the phone for a day or two. Watch Hallmark and make popcorn. You know you want to.

Nantucket lightship interesting history, awesome photography, yes I went to read and learn more about lighships, leaves one wondering how many lives it saved when in commission.

The Park Bench and Trash can so effectively captured, always enjoy the many unusual park benches you photographed when working in NYC.

Beach cove walk a lovely morning out using the dark lighting of cloud cover in this way showing more detail.

Have a great day JJ.

I loved your photos. They are really awesome. Also I was looking at other images and I reblogged that post (I know you got that notification.) Wonderful!

Also, I discovered that feature of being able to see the image larger and although you don't mention it, I intuited that it was by getting the address of the image and pasting it there. Correct me if that's not so, dear.

And adding more, I realize or rather refreshed my memory with the fact that in Peakd we can view the images as in a presentation or slideshow. I will be encouraged to do a post about it, maybe many don't know about it.

Excellent posts, also don't ask me how I got here, because I don't remember. hahaha. I think I was curating comments and I saw your post with several and it seemed like a great opportunity to value them.

Best regards.

These are wonderful, @tattoodjay. I saw this too late to join in on Monochrome Monday, but I will aim to next week! It's a great day for gray. :-)

Isn't it interesting how monochromes can tend toward stark black and white, or more toward gray or even blue?

Thanks and Yes I often do not due strict Black and white, often got for other tones mostly blues

I do love your monotones as opposed to monochromes. They inject so much more mood and atmosphere into the photos whilst still keeping a firm focus on the subject matter. Some nice pics. I do see what you mean about the Nanyucket but I really like this one :-) @tattoodjay I came to your post via @dreemport
