Mono Monday a recent visit to Popes Island

good Morning all I hope your week is starting well

Sticking with my normal habit of sharing some mono Images to start the week yet again and this time with a few shots I took on a walk the day before yesterday morning ( well yesterday as I prepare the post a few days ago when you read it)

I thought i had not visited there for a while so decided to visit it again

Starting with a shot of some of the boats I could possible afford, and no not the ones anchored out in the water the dinghies tied up to this little dock

while walking along the waterfront this heron suddenly took off and flew away I managed to change settings quickly and catch this shot of it

Now some ask if when I am out taking photos I know when I take a shot whether i will end up editing it into a Mono image and honestly most of the time no, but there are some cases where i see something and the moodiness of the day and compose it and adjust settings with it in mind the end result will be edited in mono, and as I saw the swing Bridge on the island and was composing this shot I knew i would most likely edit it in mono as I felt it was fitting with this cool old bridge and with the moodiness of the morning.

and that got me thinking of images suitable for mono on the rest of the walk and led to the rest of the photos in this post

Such as this telecoms tower, when I used to work in the field one of the jobs I had to do was to climb and in fact build telecom towers, most of the ones we built were not free standing like this one but guyed, and I think the tallest I ever built and worked on was 300 Feet high.

Now I must admit it wasn't a job I loved but i did get used to it, but was glad when my roles changed and I did not have to do any tower work anymore :)

a couple of the commercial fishing boats, I took two shots in this exact spot, one with settings to bring out the moodiness and one for a potential color edit at some stage
