Monochrome Monday back in the local Cemeteries

Monochrome Monday back in the local Cemeteries

Well another week has flown by, and Monday has arrived which for me means a Mono post

this week I am sharing some images from a couple of walks in local Cemeteries namely St Mary's and St John's, both beautifully maintained cemeteries with some interesting headstones

Starting with this one which really caught my eye in the shape of a tree trunk, I do not remember ever seeing one like this before quite unique I thought

this headstone I found quite touching with the small child and the cross looking like its made from wood in shape even if not in texture

and another shot of the tree trunk headstone from another angle

IT got me thinking if when my time come to be and I pass what headstone would I like, and to be honest I think this tree trunk idea is what I favor at the moment

but that said, even though I enjoy walking through older cemeteries and imagining the lifes of the people buried there, I think I would prefer to be cremated and my ashes poured into the sea somewhere and not have a burial plot and headstone, that way if anyone wanted to go and think of me they could go to the beach anywhere and do so.

Now thats a bit morbid I guess thinking about this subject so lets continue with more headstones

This was another unique design that caught my eye, and as you will note I kept a splash of color for the flag

one one of my walks there it was a foggy morning which led to this next moody image

and finishing off with another moody images, thats the chapel in St Johns Cemetery in the background which I must edit some photos of for a future post

And that’s all folks

Oh that tree trunk is such a great idea… never seen that before.
It does make you think. But I think like you, why have a stone and plot somewhere.
The sea will do and is a great memory for all, just visit a beach and remember. 🌊🌊🏝🏖

Great photographs @tattoodjay have a beautiful Monday 👋🏻☀️

It is such a cool idea indeed 😎
So far it is, we are having a strong breeze at the moment so with the windows open it is nice. Although the temperature inside is still 27 degrees Celsius hahaha so warm to say the least.
Enjoy your day 😁 @tattoodjay

I think I'm repeating myself when I say that cemeteries look best in mono like in your images, JJ, but that's what I'm thinking. It would look too happy in colour, although you never know if the boys and girls aren't happy there six feet under.

The treetrunk headstone looks interesting, I also haven't seen similar before.
