Morning blues

Morning blues

Good morning and the title today may make you think I am down or about to have a rant, but that's not the case at all, its just of recent I have shared quite a few posts with colorful sunrises and thought for today I would go with some pre sunrise shots during the blue hour, taken at different locations starting with one taken at Fort Taber park here in New Bedford beside the pier, admittedly in this shot a slight touch of color on the horizon but I decided to go with this one fist anyway

Often I get to the location I am going well before the sunrise to get some steps in before I get fixated by the sunrise and stop to take many photos, but occasionally I may stop and grab some photos during the blue hour
and here is another one again at Fort Taber, the long exposue making the water almost like a mirror

Now this next shot was by the pier on Rodney French Blvd, I headed out way early that morning and it was very dark, this shot may not give that appearance of that, but I switched to bulb mode which I rarely used and did an even longer exposure this one was 69 Seconds to pull in all the light that was there.

A little tip
Its at times like this I liked a habit I have when I get a new camera is to take the time and learn where all the switches and dials are and the menu settings so if I need to change something on the fly I can do it fairly quickly, or as was the case at this time, when its pitch black you can change the settings knowing where all the buttons and switches are.

How I do this is first sit in the light getting used to the camera, then I have another session at night in the dark practicing changing settings by feel I guess I would call it.

This next shot is another long exposure taken on the pier at Fort Taber looking across East beach

And finishing off with another shot from on the pier

And that’s all folks

The colors are so deep on all of them. You really do know how to get the best out of your camera :)

Thanks, and thats so nice of you to say
I kind of cringe sometimes when people say WOW your camera is good LOL

Sure it is, but knowing how to use it helps

Reminds me about 2 or so years ago I had someone message me complaining I was a fraud, she bought the camera I had and she said the photos it took weren't like mine so I must be fake, I did respond calmly and explained its more than just the camera, and gave her tips now and then, now she is a little happier with her camera

Have a great day and a !PIZZA

Wow, she thought she could do it without any studying? I can imagine she wasn't happy! But that wasn't your fault or the camera's.

Thanks so much for the
!PIZZA :) I wonder if !ALIVE is working yet?

Thanks your always so kind, I had missed morning walks for a couple of days due to rain and a cold spell but got out my layers and got out for a walk this morning, the day just doesn't start right for me without a walk.

Thanks for your feedback

!PIZZA is nice but even better with !WINE or !!BEER

Ten years ago I would be out walking the dogs locally early mornings, now I would never take the chance going alone. No longer have the two big dogs!

Thoroughly enjoy seeing the royal blue lighting you capture during early hours out.

Your blue hour shots are great JJ, and today my favourite photo is the second one - just the lights and the blue colour looks cool 👍

I hope you're having a nice weekend my friend 😀

These are really quite striking in that they are different from the normal colourful sunsets. That deep azure blue is one of my favourite colours.

Thank you for sharing these.

Kind regards

Quite incredible, you capture amazing scenery.

It's motivating me to dust off my camera again and go play around somewhere pretty. Maybe my soul needs it too.

Have a great evening

It's so absolutely great that you're able to get up early enough to get those shots. They always turn out so well, and I love the dark blue in the sky.
