Piers

I do love shots in the early morning looking over piers

I do love shots in the early morning looking over piers, and in many of my posts a shot of a pier will slip in, so for today I thought i would slip in a post all about piers, I go out often for early morning walks by the water and have bene trying so hard to not share to many early morning blues or sunrise posts that I haven't shared many at all so this weekend will be posts in the early morning starting with this one focused on piers

Starting with a shot taking on the Harbor walk looking down on the pier by Cisco Breweries

And this is the other pier behind Cisco breweries, the platform in the water wasn't there last year, my guess is they added it to allow people to pull up on boats so people can walk up the ramp and go the the restaurant.

Now one tip for those who do not go out to see sunrises often, a mistake I see many people make is they turn up to the spot such as this one just as the sun is rising and are somewhat disappointed that the colors aren't what they hoped for, well in part that is luck of the day as we never know what mother nature will share with us.
But more so its often the best colors are in the period from a few minutes to half an hour before the sun rises, same with sunsets, many as soon as the sun dips below the horizon pack up and leave often the best colors come a little while after the sun goes down

The same pier as the first image on another day

and on yet another day, well infact the same day as the first photo but orientated portrait rather than landscape

Thanks for those tips, I'd not known that about the sunrise and the best time to photograph. It will come in handy for me when I get a DSLR in the future.

It's going great! Today is Sunday, so I go to Mass.
Hopefully I will make a visit with the elderly in our town and bring them Danishes for tea.
Then tend to my squash and other plants. Later this afternoon, I get to play some tunes in the piano, while I wait for my dough to rise. I do my baking on Sundays!
It will be a quite Sunday, that is, if no one comes visiting, hehehe!

What an incredible way to start a day 👀

I have to admit I'm kinda jealous.

There's something really special about being up that early, when the world is still calm and quiet and you seem to have it all to yourself. And then the colours... and the sunrise.

Best!

Thanks for sharing for those of us still burrowed under the covers in winter down south!

Thanks, I am lucky to be both a early riser and to have so many nice spots nearby to visit

as it starts warming there it will be cooling down here

Yes... we've passed the tipping point into summer is coming :)

You inspire me to rise earlier!

Some days, at least ;)

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, fellow traveler 😊🌸

But you probably see more sunsets than I do 😎
The trouble is for you in summer the sunrises get even earlier

Cheers

Well... we have a mountain that runs the whole way through our city and suburbs. So incredibly we mostly either have a blasting early sunrise or a pretty late one depending on which side we live.

Unless you're on top of the mountain ;)

I see far too few sunrises or sunsets these days! Kids. Dinnertime. But these are just bad excuses really...

I do get peeks of them yeah. And they are glorious around here. The African Sky does some pretty spectacular things.

If I could capture them on my phone for you I would. But I can't take the kind pf photos you manage to pull off.

I don't think I could even try, dude.

Enjoy the last vestiges of summer... but I'm also keen to see winter on your side of the planet through those lenses of yours... and I mean your eyes more than your camera :)

I must say some if the most spectacular sunrises and sunsets I have seen have been in Africa just something special about them there
