Saturday Early Morning on Popes Island

Early Morning on Pope's Island

Good morning, and have a good day and weekend

Today I will share a few shots from a walk I took on Pope's Island early in the morning recently, well, semi-recently.

A few of the commercial fishing boats, Miss Leslie, Mirage, and Tyler C with the back of the Crystal Ice building in the background.
I think they may well be scallop fishing vessels (scalloper) and trawlers

and next up we have a lift boat docked at the port

They are also called a jackup barge or self-elevating work platform, and are a specialized marine vessel equipped with tall cylindrical legs (spuds) and heavy-duty cranes.

The vessel can lower its massive steel legs to the seabed and elevate its entire hull completely out of the water.

This elevation creates a completely stable, wave-free working platform for conducting heavy construction, maintenance, or equipment staging.

While originally designed for the offshore oil and gas industry, liftboats are frequently utilized along the coast for offshore wind energy projects and marine infrastructure support

And of course, those that follow me will know that whenever I visit Pope's Island, I cannot resist walking over and taking photos of this Swing Truss Bridge.

And another photo of both the bridge and the lift boat was very still that morning so it made for cool reflections in the water.
I had seen the lift boat out on the water inthe distance a few times, but seeing it docked here gave a real good idea of the size of the lift poles on it, it really is so tall

and more boats and reflections to finish off the post :)

And that’s all folks
