Saturday Sunrise at the port

Sunrise at the port

Good morning, and have a great weekend

Today I will share some shots at the Port here in New Bedford, a morning when I caught a lovely sunrise there.
Now, I have mentioned before, I do not generally head to the port when I think it's going to be a nice sunrise; I often save it for more moody mornings.
But this day was an exception, MY wife had woken up at about 2 AM, and I woke also, and we chatted for a bit, then went back to bed. I fell asleep again and slept in a bit, didn't wake up till just after 4 AM.
I took a quick look at the weather app and saw the clouds were such that it had potential for a nice sunrise, so I grabbed my camera bag, well after getting dressed of course :) and jumped into the car.

Then I noticed the time and realised if I wanted to catch the sunrise, I needed to head to somewhere close, and the Port is one of the closest spots so off I went and got the shots I will share today.

Starting with this shot, the red boats sort of match some of the colors in the sky

Whereas the darker boats contrast nicely with the colors in the sky
You may note the empty pier off to the left, which is in dire need of repair, apparently and they have closed it off I see access to it blocked, but no work going on, thats where the old tall ship the Ernestina Morrissey, used to berth. Now it is berthed in another spot but not one I can access to get shots of it

the same three boats from the previous shot plus one more, the white boat with plenty of rust but I think thats adds to the feel of how hard working these boats and crews are

And that’s all folks

How are you, my dear friend @tattoodjay?

I personally love visiting the riverbank to see beautiful sunrises, especially if they're as colorful as the ones you have there.

Beautiful photos.

Have a great day.

Wow, the sunrise is truly beautiful. And the view of the harbor is truly a beautiful place, and I saw ships anchored in the harbor that looked really cool.

That first picture is gorgeous, it almost looks more like an amusement park at one glance! lol What pretty pictures you captured that morning! Nothing like sunrise over the water is there?
