Some more cool properties around the city

Some more cool properties around the city

good Morning all I hope your week is going well and your having a terrific Tuesday, New Bedford Ma where I live used to be one of the richest cities in the world, so I guess it is no surprise it has some very impressive properties and I will share some I came across on a walk not to far from where i live in the city but trust me the place I live in is not as impressive as these

this first one is the 1877 Paul Howland Sr house and stands proud, but some have mentioned stories of it being haunted and even that they don't like walking by it at night as they feel its like the house from the movie Physco

I have walked past it in the middle of the night and didn't find it ominous at all

this next one looks like it needs some TLC, but I got some interesting info from it from Farcebook comments

Such as
one lady who mentioned she was one of her caregivers when the owner broke her ankle and needed help. She was a hairdresser back in the early 60's until she died in her 80's. That house was gorgeous inside, as well as, spooky . It was haunted and she said she saw proof of it. She had that house decorated so uniquely, each room had a theme, all the bedrooms were beautifully set up as if someone was sleeping there...even though she lived there alone. She had a livingroom that had furniture from the White House when Jackie Kennedy redecorated it. It has 3 floors, the 3rd floor was the servants quarters back in the day. It was originally a Whaling Captain's home back in the 1800's. She was a really nice woman who had such an amazing life, she knew famous singers and musicians, because of her husband (musician) and her hairdressing business.

Next up Knights manor which also is looking a bit rundown, I did not find much about its history, other than it used to be used or owned by the Knights of Columbus at some stage

This one is very run down so sad to see, but I have heard from a couple of people, many of these old properties are either being renovated by their current owners or have bene brough by developers who plan to refurbish them, apparently with the train to Boston coming soon, some are seeing potential for growth here in New Bedford

the caregiver who worked in this house related how in simmer one night while waiting for her replacement to arrive, the house had no fans or AC and hence was warm, but she was in the kitchen waiting, and suddenly felt cold, and then a cup[board slowly opened and then equally slowly closed, she freaked out and rushed outside and waited for her r4eplacement there

Paul howland Sir House is really looking haunted and it is reminding me of haunted house in lock and key Netflix series. Although their house was big big with black colour but design is little bit similar.

Greetings, beyond the assumptions that they are haunted, they are very interesting houses architecturally. They are imposing. Thanks for sharing, these spaces are not seen in these parts of my country Venezuela. Greetings.

Are these all houses empty now?

It would be adventurous to live in there

I am an adventurous guy but not so adventurous to risk my life😂😩

Hey there @tattoodjay I hope that you've been well and I'm sorry that it's been so long, but I have missed your guts and so I'm back for more of the Hivelife and so wonderful to see ypu in one of the first posts that I come across- especially with 2 of my favourite topics- pretty and probably haunted houses!

Regardless of their levels of deterioration, they are all so totally gorgeous in their own unique ways because of the architectural styles and each ones unique touches here and there.

Even if they are all haunted, I could absolutely learn to live with the ghosts to live in one of them! 😃

Cool old mansions. I like that they are all of similar design. Fun when historic towns have a cohesive vibe like that.
