Sunday semi macro shots

Sunday semi macro shots

This post is for #SublimeSunday is inspired by @c0ff33a and #BeautifulSunday is initiated by @ace108 and I am sharing some semi macro shots I have taken recently.

But first off and perhaps because i have not been out with my camera a lot of recent, I will admit I did semi mess up with all the photos I have taken on my last couple of walks here and let me explain how.

On my camera there is a setting to shoot is APS C mode, which is a mode which shoot sonly using part of the sensor on a full frame camera, but is handy sometimes if you want to extend the range of a lens, for example if I was using as I was with these photos mu 50-400 lens its actually range is APS C mode would be 75 to 600 so it is a handy feature to have when you want even more range from a lens, but the down side is it doesn't use the full sensor and hence the file sizes are smaller.

I am not sure exactly how long I had it switched to that mode, perhaps when I was first testing out my new lens, or perhaps even before that when I was trying to get some shots of the moon with my big lens, I only noticed as I was editing these photos and switched it back to full frame mode now.

I used to check the setting pretty much every time before going out for a photo walk, I guess taking a break for a few weeks I got out of the habit.

Anyway back to what I meant to talk about some semi macro shots on a recent short walk

Starting with a few berries,

And a dandelion, I have many times bene out on walks and seen a dandelion in nice light but didn't have a lens suited to getting shots of it, having this new lens is handy for that.
THis shot didn't look that great in color but I like how it looked in Black and White

and just simply a leaf on a tree

and another dandelion this one in color

and not a couple of shots of this dandelion flower and fly one at full zoom of 400, from a distance

Your lenses are great, @tattoodjay !
I never got to buy a camera. When I first met you (I just stated here!), seeing how beautiful your photos are, I said I was going to save up for a camera. I don't know if you remember that. Well, I have bought tons of silver and no camera, hehehe!

Thanks I am very happy with that new lens,
and yes I do remember that, but probably more sensible investments you have done :)

Thanks, cameras are an expensive hobby I think I have enough to last me for a while, but then again I have said that before then I get Lens addiction and want a new one LOL

Photography is a great hobby as it makes one look for beauty in ordinary things around us, but can be expensive once you suffer from lens addiction I'm sure😉

I can't remember the name of the yellow flower.
I strain my convolutions, but it doesn't help. 😟
Remind me of the name.

Oh, shit, oh my God.
It's really a dandelion.

Why didn't I recognize him? Maybe because I've never photographed him from this angle.
Or it's time for me to take pills for head.

The berries look nice except the one that something got to first.

Great macro shots especially the dandelion flower pictures, the colours pop out and I can clearly see the fly sniffing on the flower. Thank you for sharing and enjoy the new week ahead :}

Wow... First time I'm hearing about an APS-C mode on a full frame. That's some interesting functionality.

Would be more interesting if there could be a microfour thirds mode. That way you would be able to pull out a 100mm-800mm equivalent from your 50mm-400mm.
That would be super telephoto for your Sony!

Nice shots!
