Sunrise at Neds Point

A while back I shared this post showing the Lighthouse at Ned's Point the morning I went there we also had a lovely sunrise and that will be the focus of this post.

I often post photos in the order that I took them for post, so my favorite shot is sometime sin the middle of a post, but I changed that for this post as this first image is my favorite the rich greens in the foreground to me highlight the colors of the sunrise that morning

Ned's Point is officially known as “Veterans of Mattapoisett Memorial Park,” and is a hub of recreational activity on the shores of Mattapoisett Harbor. here you can see the harbor, Buzzards Bay, Cape Cod, and the Elizabeth Islands, I have bene there a couple of times and plan to go again its a lovely spot especially in the early morning when very few are there it is so peaceful

As you can see there are lots of boulders and rocks around this area

And this is a shot in the car park there standing right by my car, and in editing this photo I had to edit out empty plastic bottles fast food trash and the like.
That's something that frustrates me when people leave a mess in beautiful spots like this, but let me tell you a funny thing, before I left I grabbed a plastic bag and cleaned up some of the trash, the funny thing is if I had done that before taking this photo I would not have had to edit them out in photoshop

And even though I have done a post on the Lighthouse I could not ass one shot of it to this post, as its the main reason I visited this spot.

Extremely green showing in morning light reflecting down, look surreal!

Another eventful morning out, now in future you know to clear the trash before photographing the site, yes most annoying how dirty people are in nature!

Lighthouse always a draw card, great photography once again JJ.

Ohh I totally agree
I was bad this morning driving by a beach I saw someone stop there can take out a bag of trash and drop it on the beach I stopped grabbed the bag and followed them as it happened he went to his office. I walked in with the bag and told the front office person what I saw and which car and left it and headed on

Naughty I know but it felt good lol

Thanks for most of these I had my wider lens 17-28mm and most of these at the 17 end which is fairly wide

I agree, the first shot is also my favourite but I like the boulders too.

Editing out trash? I have taken sunrise photos on an Italian beach last year and saw a dog walking by with its human. I didn't mind having them in the photo, but at home I saw that the dog had stopped and its pose showed clearly what it was doing, very clear 😆 I didn't edit it out, but I also didn't post the image ... maybe one day 😜

I'm doing that too, I even avoid nice spots or often turn around if there are people 😁 but sometimes I just can't get around 😂

I definitely love that first shot, it arrests all the senses in one shot. It took me by surprise when I clicked on it as it truly is breathtaking and appealing to my sense of calm at the same time.

They are all beautiful and there is something special you have, this relationship with the water and all things nautical, it calls out your name and you show it off to its best advantage.

The lighthouse is a special shot, I love the gorgeous silhouette! You are rocking it, my friend!

Ned's Point is pretty during dawn!!!
Is there a coffee place open that early and where you see that scenery?
I would sit there after watching the sunrise.

🤣 Always do the cleaning before the pictures and save yourself some work.

Thats a good point, but often I was getting there while it was dark, and at the time of taking the photos I didnt notice the rubbish's till the sun came up

Yeah or as I did its easy to clean the photos up in photoshop, and pick up the trash before I leave as I usually do when its better light, but that said I always have a light in my camera bag
