Thanks and an update of my wife

Thanks and an update of my wife

Firstly I want to say thank you so much to everyone who has been so supportive and sending positive thoughts and support for my wife it is so truly appreciated

And secondly I want to thank those who are keeping the Thanks for joining Wednesday Walk going so strong in my absence :)

Update on my wife

Today we drove to Boston to see the specialist they took more X-rays and took at look at her shoulder

He recommended because of her bad reactions after the hip replacement surgery and because of her other medical conditions to hold off on surgery for the moment

Basically said even though the shoulder is fractured quite badly the humerus bone is pressed into the ball joint and there is a chance it may heal together in such a way it may be fine and not need surgery

He wants her to keep on the sling for another week and then start some gentle physical therapy and return for a follow up in six weeks

After how bad she was after the hip surgery due to a rare reaction to the Heparin blood thinner causing serious clotting in her arms I am kind of glad in a way she isn’t having the surgery and hope her shoulder does heal this way.

But my concern is also I note how often words like “may” “could” “might” etc were used but I guess I have to stay positive and hope and pray for the best

So bottom line I am still going to be not on here much for a while although I do miss getting out taking photos and interacting here on hive, I just don’t have the time or to be honest the energy to do it at the moment.

Focusing my time and energy on helping Lulu and doing all I can to help keep her somewhat comfortable and healing to get back to her normal self however long that takes

While in the medical center I snapped this shot with my phone my colorful shoes and as I always do mismatched socks.

As we know washing machines tend to eat socks and over the years I threw out so many socks as I lost it’s partner so maybe 20 years ago I decided to just always wear mismatched socks and never worry about loosing one lol

Much love to you and your wife as she heals her shoulder. Uncertainty is difficult to navigate and you are doing great to remain positive and focusing on the best possible outcome. Thank you for checking in and sharing your journey.

I've lost a lot of socks but I rarely wear any now except to work out since I'm most often wearing flip flops.

Thanks so much
I must admit at times I am struggling to stay positive but keeping it up myself and putting on a positive appearance most of the time

That's a powerful awareness. We often are told, especially in childhood, not to be sad or angry, and we carry this belief with us. It's OK to be sad, angry, frustrated, scared, and it's OK to express this so we don't hold on to it. Staying positive can mean accepting the emotions and pain you are currently experiencing and knowing that it will pass. You're not alone and you have built an amazing, loving community that is here for you.

Heres to hoping

words like “may” “could” “might”

all come true 🍻 Good luck to you and your wife. We miss you here but know you are doing the right thing.

@tattoodjay I know after the surgery requires much time for a total healing process, but I hope and pray all the best for her, as well as a fast healing.

Perhaps I could relate to this because 6 months ago, I had a medial cuneiform fracture. That was really so painful and unbearable, but I am thankful fo I have now recovered.

All the best for your wife. I believe she is strong. She could bear all of these. All is well. Have a great day and keep safe both always.

Thanks so much and sorry to hear you had to deal with all that pain

I just hope my wife doesn't go through all this pain and then in a few weeks will still need the surgery

I will surely be praying for Lulu and yourself. I'm so happy she has someone like you by her side at this point in time.

I've missed seeing you around but it's obvious Lulu needs all the attention she can get now and I must say you are truly amazing for being there for her.

I love the idea of you wearing different colors and designs of socks, it will save you so much stress 😅.

Sending you virtual hug JJ 🤗❤️.

Thanks
In some ways I wish she was having the surgery now but do understand the Drs caution to try to let it heal itself rather than risk surgery

Life is too short to match socks. And those shoes are pretty epic!

It's really nice, if possible, to let injuries heal naturally. Hopefully that is what is able to happen here. Good luck! Thoughts are with you.

This is pure genius.

Yep, the doctors are always using those words. After all the blood test and the scans and all the other things to figure out my blood pressure issue, it boiled down to me simply not having enough sodium in my diet, so now a cup of chicken broth in the mornings and evenings and I am get above 90/60 readings.

They like to rule out a lot of things that could be dangerous; so the use of may, might and could quite often. I hope it heals alright for her, recovery can be a long hard road at times.

Thanks so much truly appreciated

I do hope and pray it heals naturally I dread the thought of her going through weeks more of pain and then it hasn't healed and she has to have the surgery

Staying strong with her but sometimes I just want to scream but that achieves nothing lol

It could be just the remedy she has been waiting for. It would be the best solution to eh problem at hand.

Those mismatched socks drive me crazy, my kids do that too and I make sure I match them! I want those shoes though!!!

Thoughts and prayers for Lulu. xo

Yes I do hope so nit needing the surgery would be the best
But in the back of my mind I dread the thought of she goes through 6 weeks of pain and then it hasn't healed and would have to have the surgery
But I have to stay positive and be there for her

I would love to get out fir a short photo walk and perhaps a scream in a remote spot to clear my head but that isn't going to help either of us lol

Isn't that the truth? That is what runs through my head, but, trying not to be such a pessimist. Of course, keeping her diabetic numbers low help, but the pain raises them. You are a great positive force and make sure you take care of you too as you are the crutch holding everything up.

I don't know what I was thinking, I have been trying not to put much on you as I know you will feel like answering, so I have been purposely avoiding it. But, I should have been posting WW. I don't know what I was thinking. :(

You could probably get respite help to give you a few moments away from it all. It actually may help a lot to have a few moments for you. It gives you so much energy. I am sure your insurance will take care of it. Shopping, walking or a nice nap might do a body good. It is perfectly human to do so.

Thanks again
I am trying to take care of myself and staying positive when Lulu manages to have a nap I try and get one as well
Only time I am getting out is to the supermarket and I race around quickly and get what we need and get back home

You are taking good care of her, and that's wonderful and so important, @tattoodjay. I'm just so sorry that she is in pain and that her healing is a long, drawn-out process. These things don't get easier or faster as we get older, unfortunately.

Hoping the "may," "could" and "might" are more hopeful than you fear, and that Lulu's shoulder mends nicely!

I must have been away too long to have missed what happened to your wife. I pray she will get well very soon. 🙏

And the shoes... and socks! I love the colorful shoes, and I'm getting crazy with the socks. I should stop throwing away the singled socks from now on... 😄

Well, I guess the #wednesdaywalk posts will continue even if we will miss you. That is because I have one lined up. I am sure others do so you have things to come back for.

Hang in there for Lulu!

A large number of words like "may" "could" "might" really raise doubts... Isn't there any way that you could see another doctor for more advice? Good health to your wife!

PS. The socks are great! Stylish, fun, optimistic.

Oh, I've always worn mismatched socks. You are right, they seem to disappear somewhere and I hate waste. It was also quite trendy in the 1970s to have different coloured socks on. I'm sure it will come back into fashion and then we will be bang on trend!

Sending positive vibes and hopefully Lulu's shoulder heals itself. ❤️

Hello dear friend @tattoodjay
It is good to know that your wife will not undergo another surgery, I wish with all my heart that she heals in this way and not be exposed to surgery again
You do very well to be 100% in the care and company of your wife, everything we do, we do for our loved ones, and these are times when we must be

Dear friend, I hope your wife recovers. Do not worry . I have been busy for some time due to the start of weddings and photography, and I have less time to visit the hive. It has been a few days since I noticed your absence in the photography lovers forum. I wish you and your wife good health. take care

Still sending prayers for a swift and successful recovery 🙏🙏🙏

A friend once wore mismatched socks to the office. He got a lot of ribbing from everyone. But he was game about it and had a classic reply that brought the house down. When teased about it he said, "That's funny. There's another pair like these in the house." Har har har

I hope your wife is doing loads better now than she was last week. Please do put up another update when you have time, I know many of us are thinking of you and her and hoping for that the surgery wasn't necessary and she's healing without it.

Here's my wednesday walk post for today although it was so flower focused, I felt it well suited to put into Always a Flower as well.
