The Pier by the Boat Ramp

The Pier by the Boat Ramp

I often prepare posts up to a week in advance and as I am preparing this here the smoke from the Canadian Wildfires has returned and I am being sensible today and even though I was wide awake early enough to head out and catch the sunrise, thought better of it and stayed indoors and was on my PC preparing photos

As I was editing a few photos I looked out the Window and saw that indeed Mother Nature decided to tease me and its a lovely sunrise with a beautiful warm glow, mind you some of that glow could well be from the smoke in the air.

Yesterday morning I checked the Air Quality and it was at the low end of Moderate so I headed out for a walk, while walking on a beach I started to feel itchy eyes and a taste in my mouth, so I checked the app and the air Quality had changed to Unhealthy for sensitive groups, and since I fall into the sensitive groups category I walked back along the beach and up to my car, probably a ten minute walk back to the car, and who knows how long the air quality had been bad.

Yesterday I did find myself coughing a bit and feeling chesty so I am glad I didn't stay out any longer and hence why its easier for me to be sensible and stay in this morning.

Well I went off waffling away again when all I wanted to say in short is

I did not got out for a walk this morning, but looked out the window and saw a nice sunrise which prompted me to look for some sunrise photos for todays post :)

And found a few shots on different days and various sunrises of the pier by the Boat Ramp at the end of the Cove Walk here in New Bedford

Often at sunrise when I visit this spot I would see fisherman out on the pier, but the few times I have been to this spot recently I haven't seen any, maybe the fishing is in another spot is better this year

and looking out over the pier, I took this while I was chatting to another retiree I see there often in the mornings, he heads out early while his wife is still sleeping as I do, but instead of walking he grabs a coffee and parks here and enjoys the view

How are you dear friend @tattoodjay good morning
I am very sorry that the forest fires are affecting the quality of the air you breathe.
It's good that you were able to go for a walk and take these beautiful sunrise shots.
I love these colorful images, thank you very much for sharing these beauties with us

Did you took photos about the smoke of the Canadian Wildfires? How bad is/was it? I read in the recent past that it reached Spain and France.

I didnt take photos when I could see it in the sky I knew it was best for me to stay indoors

I understand. When there is so much smoke it is in the sky, then it is better to stay inside.

Those are some nice colors, especially the second picture :) ... I hope you have better air quality soon!

I like the views with the pier running diagonal. Makes for really nice photo composition 👍 Those retirees 🙄 we are retired and go for a walk every morning. There is a guy that lives down the road that takes his dog out for a morning ride every day lol He drives by (and usually stops so we can pet his dog out the car window) and then in about 10 minutes he drives back by going home 😁

It is a beautiful sunrise, bright and with some orange tones, surely the smoke has a lot to do with it and what a pity, because forest fires are very serious and difficult to control. I hope soon there will be no more of this great fire, which ends with the fauna and flora of the place.
Take care of your cough, greetings

Definitely stay indoors, @tattoodjay . If you have nothing important and pressing to do outside of your home, just stay inside!
Happy Saturday, my friend.

Oh, I understand you. In our city in the spring, something blooms, to which I am allergic. And so strange, but during walks I feel fine, and only when I come home, my eyes start to itch, snot, I sneeze wildly, from what I picked up in the city. I have to take allergy pills.🤷‍♂️

Great photos! So peaceful and quiet.👍
