the Pier

the Pier

Good Morning all
A spot I park by and walk around from is beside a pier and a boat ramp here in New Bedford, and I thought for today I would share a few shots for a post just focusing on the pier.
Now most of my shots of the pier are in the early morning during blue hour or approaching the sunrise, so lets start with something different a shot of the pier in daylight

And next up when I normally first see the pier when I walk in this area, this shot is taken right beside where i park my car, I normally park get out my tripod set it up, grab my camera bag, put the camera on the tripod dig out the remote shutter and take one shot from this point checking i have the settings right on my camera before heading off on my morning walk
the water may look smooth in this long exposure shot but the water was quite choppy that morning which gives the silky look by the rocks

a similar shot tot he first one but in the early morning light or lack of it a 30 second exposure to catch enough light

This next shot is from up on the Cove walk looking down at the pier it must have bene pretty dark still at this stage as its almost a minute and a half long exposure

this time I am out on the pier looking off it at the other pier in the area

Great shots! That looks like a really good place to set up a chair and throw a line in the water. As long as tons of people aren't using it for their boats I guess!

Great pics. I love that pier you photograph. Interesting to see it in a little more light. The wood texture and color changes the look.

It really is amazing how lighting can change the whole look of the picture. That's a beautiful view, not many piers like that in southern California!

Very interesting photos. It's freezing right now, -31 degrees. I see a morning star in the sky. I see the same planet-star from my window in the morning before sunrise, if the sky is clear!

I see some things and random memories just get triggered, haha. The second I saw pier, I thought of Pierre Cadault, a fictional french designer in a Series I saw a while back - Emily in Paris.

As I viewed, I made a mind note which photo I admired so much to comment is my favourite but, naa, I couldn't keep up. From the 3rd photo, I dig all of 'em. Perfection. 👌🏾
