Thinking back to my NYC walks

Thinking back to my NYC walks

I was watching a show on Hulu yesterday and it was based in NYC and they went in Grand Central Station, which inspired me to go and check out my photos from the time I worked in NYC and find a few shots around the city that I had not edited or shared before

Starting with this shot in Grand Central Terminal which I used to pass through most mornings on my commute to work in the city.

I must admit I do for the most part do mot miss NYC, its always so crazy and hectic and I am a country boy at heart, but at time I do miss my early morning walks I used to do around the city before work most days, it really is such an amazing city,

but when I really think about it if I had the choice between a walk in NYC or any big city or a beach or nature trail walk I would choose the beach or trail any day.

Next up is a shot on Roosevelt Island showing a portion of the 59th Street Bridge and the cable car tower and wires

I always loved seeing the 59th Street bridge from all angles,, but only ever rode the cable car once, I wont go into why in detail other than say after an experience many years ago I have a fear of cable cars.

I preferred walking to taking the subway unless I was short on time and the other side of the city from work, but the city does have some cool entrances to sunways stations such as this one here.

And here we have Prometheus at the Rocker Feller Center, it looks so cool but especially when its early morning or late evening in the dark

Cities are so beautiful...as a tourist or in pictures lol I agree that I could do without the hustle and congestion. As I get older I also think its for young people. When you are young you think its where everything is happening and you have to be there. Now I think, its good to experience but been there done that haha

I've never been to NYC (lived 6 months in New Jersy, Paterson as a kid though) but these pics look like something out of a Hollywood movie to me. 😁 It's interesting that you say you would prefer basically anything else than these walks. I guess if you've seen them enough in person it's different.

I would def like to visit one day. Great post! Thanks for sharing.

Ohh yeah it is well worth visiting it is an amazing city, but I worked there for close to 20 years so the novelty surely did wear off lOL

I always loved the little hidden entrances to the subway system. Like you would just be walking by an unassuming building and then boom, there is a hole in the ground or a storefront that leads to a hole in the ground.

Love these photos! I remember when you were still working in NYC and shared many photos! I may have told you, I have visited NYC a few times over my life and I prefer just to visit big cities like this and not live there! I still want to make another trip with my husband some time and go to a Broadway play who has never visited there! My plan is to not be there on crazy, busy days like the 4th of July or New Year's Eve. Hope all is well with you!
