Windmill construction site cranes

Windmill construction site cranes

Good morning all, I hope you are doing well

For this mornings post I am sharing a few shots taken on a couple of visits tot he spot where I watcha nd try and take photos of an Osprey nest and the Osprey themselves, my luck hasnt been any good in that regard so far, most times I have bene there the Osprey has been sitting with on the nest or on a platform near it, but i will keep trying, but as I was there I noticed some cranes and that will be the focus for this post.
Not cranes as in birds, but construction cranes

This first shot was taken just after the sun rose one morning

there are a couple of crane sin this construction site, one very large and a smaller one

I have found out that the project they are working on is building Wind Turbine towers and on local social media there is some heated debate about them, some people with extreme views at both ends of the issue either for or against them, and one thing I note about the most vocal on either side of the issue, is they love spouting facts that suit their point of view, often without any actual ability to present evidence of those facts, or often sharign an article that the headline agrees with their opinion but if oen reads the article one fids the article doesnt actual say what the headline suggests

now I have my opinion on them, but I will keep that to myself and hope others will as I am just documenting what I saw and dont want to trigger nay heated debates on my post.

in this next shot I believe the white thing on the left is a portion of one of the towers

It does make for some interesting shots those cranes and what they are working on.
Maybe you see the wind turbine finished too.
I can imagine the messages on social media for both sides.
Have a wonderful Saturday @tattoodjay 👋🏻😊

Looking at the cranes work must have been kind of therapeutic for you. These are really nice shots and despite the controversy, you seem happy about them which is good.
I hope the wind turbine comes out great!

Fun post. Wind turbines are all the rage these days. When I lived in California, I drove by all the wind turbines near Livermore on Altamont pass. Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory did a lot of the early research on wind power. The Altamont pass wind farm is one of the oldest in the US put up in the early 80s.

Awwww... I love the cranes!... These wonderful photos remind me of the ones I used to see in the harbours as a child and then built them with Lego at home (or at least tried to do so)... Thanks for sharing!
