Hello and greetings again everyone. I hope that you guys are having a great weekend. Today I wanted to share another black and white portrait that I took recently. This portraiture series are the audition photo for the Miss Grand Sabah 2024.

This Miss Grand Sabah 2024 audition was held at Sabah International Convention Center (SICC) at Kota Kinabalu. The audition started at 11 o'clock in the morning until late in the evening. I was asked to prepare for the shoot at 3 o'clock in the afternoon.

The requirement for the shot was;
White background with two light. A closeup shoot and full body shoot.

At prepared all the things that I need before going to the photoshoot venue. I borrowed the white background and its tripod from one of my photographer friend. Luckily he had one big white canvas background. This already made me easy on my editing workflow by skipping the need to change the background to all white.

The lighting used was my favorite Godox 600 AD with the 180cm umbrella with its softbox. This Godox 600 AD was my main light for the shoot. Another strobe that I used was the Godox 400AD with a smaller umbrella without any diffuser. This light was used to even out the lighting on the background.

I brought my Godox V1 speedlite as my backup light, just in case something happen or a change of setup.

Before I started the photoshoot session, I was told that some of the participant was a first timer for this kind of photoshoot. At first I was a little bit worried because it will drag the time on the shoot if some of the participant can not do a pose required for the shoot.

But then, during the photoshoot session, I had only some minor problem such as to adjust the hair, wardrobe and their positions. All of them a good and have their pose ready for the photos.
