Hive Power Up Day (#HivePUD) is here and once again, being over 8,000 HP means I'm no longer eligible for the main prizes. I'm still taking part by powering up 100 Hive though and as for the last couple of months taking the opportunity to also review and report on my Hive finances and goal progress!

Ok now you've powered up here's another update on my finances and Hive goals...

My Hive Activities

I've kept up with posting - either with a video or a good length article at least twice a week.

I've also managed to increase my holdings in a few key tokens - namely BRO, BXT and SIM when I saw prices had dipped a bit. All of those as well as the UTOPIS and INCOME that I'm holding are paying out liquid Hive in some way which is great!

DEFI token

New this month - I have made a substantial investment into the DEFI token, run by @hivebuilder. I participated in the last round of this with a small amount and it all went exactly as the project said it would and everything I've heard about them is solid.

Essentially they 'guarantee' to buy the tokens back at their price of 0.1 Hive per DEFI token at the end of the round. During the 30 week long round, simply holding the tokens returns you more of them at an increasing APR from 10% to 40% by the end of the round.

So essentially - buy at the beginning - watch them grow and sell after 30 weeks or carry them over to the next round. Full details here: https://hive.blog/defi/@hivebuilder/defi-round-2-begins-now
and as of the time of writing it looks like the sell wall is still up so it's not too late to get in on this round.

Rising Star Update

I've also minted a new track on Rising Star this month which has given me a boost in Starbits from sales. I'm currently at around 65,000 fans and as I've learned that EGO gains from missions jump quite a bit again at 70,000 fans I'm planning to build up a chunk of starbits so that I can power straight through to at least 80,000 fans in one hit. We'll see if that works. I've also invested in quite a few instrument cards to help me get more out of music lessons to manage the EGO.

I'm currently not taking any 'profit' from the game - I'm just reinvesting everything by buying cards. The value of Starbits has been on the decline lately and I figured this was a good time to advance further in the game and then be in a good position to take some profits in future if the price goes up again. We will see!

Notes:

1. The numbers in brackets are the dollar equivalent according to LeoDex at the time I recorded that figure. This could make some interesting future comparisons of the FIAT value of my holdings in those tokens.

2. An estimate of weekly earnings that make me liquid Hive (i.e. payouts from BRO, INCOME, BXT, UTOPIS and SIM)

Progress against goals for 2022

• Increase my Hive Power to 10,000HP

Almost there at 9,643 (up from 9353 last month). The increase is from my 100HP power up today and the rest (190HP is from post and curation rewards).

• Increase my followers to 250

This month I passed this target and am at 263! So one goal is officially ticked off. I now have a soft stretch goal of 350 in mind but as I've said before I don't think followers are the be all and end all on Hive and I'm not hung up on this number.

• Weekly earnings of 100 Hive

I've stopped trying to track all the various ways I'm earning on Hive. and in particular I'm not trying to track income in 2nd layer tokens. However, if I just look at the easy(er) to track things here are some estimates at weekly earnings from the last month:

• liquid Hive from dividends: 10.46 p/w
• HP growth p/w (excluding my HIVE PUD power up): 43
• HBD growth p/w: 6.46 (currently worth 12 Hive)

We can see that my 'Hive Income' was around 65 Hive per week. Down quite a bit from last month (which was around 100 Hive) - mostly due to all of the Hive paying tokens paying smaller dividends this month. Still, not bad and I'll keep looking at this one and see how things go in last few months of the year.
