A Wednesday Walk: Awe in the Beauty of Nature!
It has been a while since I got to walk with nature. I'm fortunate to have a partner who also appreciates taking walks in the great outdoors. Their home in San Antonio, Zambales, is surrounded by breathtaking scenery, so we didn't have to go far to enjoy the wonders of nature.
We travel along a path that points in a specific direction. It is nestled deep within a forest, surrounded by towering, lush trees. I can hear birdsong everywhere I look, each with its distinct song and message. I can listen to the tree branches swaying in the light wind.
I come to a stream on the trail. Water flowing fills my heart, ears, and eyes. It tries to quiet the constant ideas that pass through my head like freight trains. Now that I can see it, the stream glitters in the setting light, with light beams falling from the sky.
And how lucky we are to find these flowers of water lilies. These unusual beauties adore a wet, shaded area with soft lighting. Their blooms are the most fantastic shade of color and hang in clusters. It is incredible to see them in large numbers.
Outside in lovely nature, I get that calming, centering feeling that helps me put things in perspective.
Walking amid nature thrilled me, especially after a hectic few months and challenging times.
Exploring the natural world with your significant other will reveal a unique and exhilarating universe. With every step forward, new vistas with towering trees and vivid wildflowers become visible. Enigmatic treasures can be found at every turn in the route, such as a gurgling stream, a quiet clearing, or a view of wildlife in its native environment.
It's not only about getting where you're going; getting there is crucial. You will engage in lively conversations and laugh with your loved one as you stroll side by side. You will enjoy each other's company and share humorous stories. These moments of connection are what make the walk better. And let's remember the joy of overcoming challenges as a team.
Nature is healing.
When you're in the outdoors, you don't need to look in mirrors. Alternatively, your attention is either on your surroundings.
We are not always able to feel happy or at ease. Everything is beyond our control. Seeking unwavering comfort and control ultimately results in a soul-destroyingly dull and pointless life. You are called back to reality by nature. It's not going to stop raining. You cannot postpone the sun's setting. The temperature cannot be adjusted to a comfortable level. Your muscles will burn while you're climbing a mountain. But what a relief this surrender brings! You become aware of your lack of control when you wake up from a dream. You keep in mind that adversity and weakness are a natural part of life, and acknowledging this fact makes life more bearable and makes experiencing happiness possible.
Walking in harmony with nature makes you feel like a part of this planet. You are an element of the natural world. You are no better or worse than that bird, that tree, or the other person strolling up the trail because you are all made of the same things.

I see Taoism values here, but I agree with you, there's an order in nature and we have to learn from it.
Indeed, there are a lot of things to learn about nature that reflects about our lives. 🥰
