Embracing The Change That Life Offers

Well Here We Are Again!

I'm finally doing it!

Changing my profile picture on HIVE.

To be very honest with everyone out there that might stumble across this post, I don't like change as much as I like it. Yeah I know that's weird I know.

Well let's say it's a love hate relationship, I don't normally like change in anything at all really. I like having a comfort zone where I know what to expect and what I need to do. However on the other side of the coin I do love change or the changes I bring to myself in my own life.

When or if I change something it's more than likely a thought that has come a very long way and the most probable cause for me not letting that change roll into action is because of the fear of change, the uncertainty behind it. The "IF" I change this "THAT" will be gone forever.

Now whenever I do actually implement a change in something I am almost always overwhelmed by excitement, like why didn't I do this earlier? Why didn't I try that on earlier.

Just remember one thing, the change you need or want is totally different from what perspective you are looking at it. So? Just jump in and do it, only the risk takers are rewarded!

Okay Let Me Backtrack A Little Bit, But Not Too Much!

I am writing this post not even really knowing if the picture I have would upload onto PeakD and be set as my profile photo, but well if it doesn't then so be it!

Way way back when I found Hive in a dark and dusty corner of the internet, well back then I was a smoker and as young people think, of-course smoking was cool who are you trying to kid?

Well it isn't anymore.

I've not smoked in about a good three years? I've lost track, I stopped smoking about two months before the COVID-19 pandemic hit the world!

OH there really is one great thing about the ruling party in our country, one great thing they did for me and that was when Covid hit the world our government implemented a ban on any tobacco sales. They had reasons for doing this because people might share a cigarette and pass over the virus that way. Okay enough of that!

Let's say the pandemic further helped me to stop smoking. I did it all by myself let's get that fact straight and out there. But. If I wanted to start again I would not have been able to since the ban on tobacco products back then.

A Thorn In My Side.

I've been back on Hive for nine or ten months I can't even remember, keeping track of it isn't my style. Heck keeping track of anything isn't my style.

Would you believe me if I said that since I've been back my profile picture has been a thorn in my side? I mean just take a look at it? It's a really nice picture until you see the damn cigarette hanging off my lips!

Fucking gross if you ask me!

Well today that changes!
If I can remember how to change it!!!

I've been eyeing this picture me and The Betty took on our first holiday together!
I'm overly fond of it but if I look at it with a looking glass I have a million things I would do different but all is set in stone!

Literally, we've been back at the cave where we took the photos in but it was filled with sand to the top. I think I wrote a post about that some time ago, perhaps it will be empty again this year.

Well This Here Is The Photo.

The photo that I've been meaning to put up for months! Literally MONTHS!

I'll be honest it's going to take me quite sometime to get use to seeing another profile picture and more than likely I'll get a mini scare thinking that someone is fiddling around on my account!

It might not be a big change to a lot of people but for myself this was definitely a huge step in the right direction!

If anything I should have done the change a long time ago! The person you see in my old profile picture is no longer the person who are writing these posts. That boy has been left behind and I hope never to find him again! Yeah I've made some really big changes the last three years of my life and the biggest of them was to get up off my ass and start working for what I want and deserve in life!

I did change the photo before I pushed the post, not sure if it has changed on PeakD yet or what but I did notice the change on Ecency. So it should eventually swap out. I hope.

Nice photo for an avatar. Once upon a time I also smoked, but now occasionally only a cigar (a couple of times a year).

Honestly I would not have a problem smoking a cigar every now and then.

The most important thing for me was to break the habit... The absolute NEED to smoke.

I have to add that whenever someone lights a cigarette I still get the craving to take a pull.. It's been three years but I doubt that feeling will ever truly go away

I think you had an achievement when you quit the cigarette habit.
The natives used tobacco as a medicinal element, in specific cases, but the adventurers of the conquest turned it into a custom.
Anything in excess is harmful, even medicinal herbs.

The cave, what a fitting symbol to feature in your profile pic. Way to go for quitting smoking. Sometimes being a quitter is a good thing! As a former longtime smoker, I applaud your change. 🌤
