Well Hello There Fellow Technicians And Hivers!
The Time Has Come.
I finally got a break to push this clutch into its place!
Bossman cornered me and told me that he will be attending some of his personal affairs and since he's going to I should to.
Naturally to that I wont object at all.
I wasted literally no time at all! None!
I quickly gathered everything around and proceeded, fortunately I've done quite a few of these during my time, but there is nothing like working on your own stuff!
The Extra Mile.
For those who are actually keeping track of this, well they would know that I didn't actually need a clutch.
Wait why did you buy one then you tard?
Well it was more of an assurance thing really and since the clutch fork failed the clutch did slip quite a lot over a 400km distance so yeah I didn't want to fit the old clutch back and have problems another 400km down the road!
So I got myself the clutch too, which I've waited for quite some time.
In the picture you can see the clutch forks, only the one failed with me. Luckily.
Them Fancy Tools.
I am in such a fortunate position... really I am.
If I wasn't a techie working for a transmission shop I'd probably have paid around $2700 (USD) for this job in total. Give or take, instead so far I only paid about $480 (USD), so far though!
Also even if I was a techie I'd still not have the right tools for this job? I wont be going out and buying a damned expensive kit for just one simple clutch. No no.
Ready To Head Homewards!
Well this has been fun but now I can really do with my car!
Seriously it has been far too long and heck knows how I've managed to be without it for so long.
She'll be shifting as smooth as silk now! Let's hope it stays that way for a long time to come!

It's so shiny and pretty.
It sounds like you're in a good position at that job. The benefit of working on your own car is huge. And it's clear you have a passion for it.
I just paid a plumber $1700 to swap out a water heater. And I helped him get it down there and carry out the old one. The actual plumbing was about 45 minutes of work for him. I probably could have done it myself, but, well, it seemed a bit beyond my DIY level of patching burst pipes with SharkBite fittings. I guess I'm paying for the fact that he had a truck full of tools and decades of experience.
I still often regret not going into the trades...
The truck load full of tools and the years of experience is likely what you paid for 😅... it's a hard thing I know...
But take rest in the fact that sometimes a job looks a whole lot more simpler than it actually is... we get a lot of people that attempt stuff but they end up causing more bad than good and that costs more money to fix eyy...
Well the trades... the trades is sometimes a crappy place to be 😀 unless you're at the right place... I am glad I am... a job where the owners actually take care of me... if I'm in need they would likely be the first I would call for help...but then again not all places are lkke that!
