They Always Have To Argue First!

Well Hello There Everyone!

Another Episode Of WorkLife

What A Thing To Break!

You know these things that go round and round that just never stops breaking!
Do all things that go round and round end up breaking?
I swear my head is going to go round and round one of these days!

Okay but seriously I'm not complaining! If these things that go round and round don't break... well then I'd be without a job!

Now that won't be a good thing at all!

It's Never Just HappenStance!

It's always the bloaks that worked on the vehicle last!
The spare tyre is flat and we were the ones that did the last oil change! It's our fault!
Heck guys OKAY!

Laughs so we did a transmission rebuild on this pickup around last year November somewhere, it might be even longer ago than that... Perhaps September?

It doesn't matter when it was though!

Now since we did the transmission rebuild and something related to the transmission broke we are liable for it! NO WE'RE NOT!
See the torque converter bolts down onto the "Flex Plate" of the vehicle and it literally just transfers the power from the motor over to the transmission.

Almost like a "clutch" and "flywheel" in a manual build but not entirely! A automatic build consists of a "torque converter" and a "flex plate."

Now the problem is the client doesn't want to pay for his new "flex plate" and somehow it's our fault that he guns his "Bakkie" everywhere he goes because frankly the only possible way to break this plate is.... Well I'm not exactly sure what breaks it, I think it can be a variation of quite a few things.
Improper fitment of it or perhaps when a torque converter breaks and becomes loose on the transmission side it may also lead to breaking or cracking it, now we don't have a broken converter so it all points to the motor? The bloaks had the motor rebuild and it must have been improper fitment that led to that.

Or just gunning out of the line of every traffic light you come by!

I am really not sure what led to this one cracking BUT we told the client that he has one of two choices... either he pays for the new one or we fit the old one back and he pays for the labour that is already done.

I think we all know what choice he made! Since I am standing with the new one in hand!
