Achieving Your New Year's Resolutions.

Happy New Year Hivers. 2024 is finally here and I'm having some pretty good feelings about this year already. Some time ago, "New Year, New Me" which is used as a statement for resolutions was one of the most popular quotes I see folks post on their social media just on New Year's Eve and the first day of the new year, but I noticed I didn't see much people post that quote on this New year's eve or yesterday.e

One could say the quote is longer in vogue, but I personally believe it is because more people are beginning to understand what resolutions really mean and how to be successful at New Year resolutions. While the New year is a fact and ideal, a "New Me" is a mirage and only becomes a reality with effort. I get that people tend to use the New Year as a marker for their goals, achievements and plans, however, it is quite clear now that if a person can't take charge and try to set goals and plans in the remaining 364 days of the year, then there's no much guarantee that they'll take their New Year resolution seriously.

Don't get me wrong, having New Year resolutions is good, and I do have my new year resolutions like learning more web development related skills, keep building my portfolios and investments and most importantly taking my health and physical fitness more seriously by exercising regularly and eating healthy foods. However, this would be a struggle for me if I just wanted to start all of these suddenly because it's a new year. Resolutions are easier to execute when a person has been taking a few active/passive steps in making them become a reality even before the New Year. Also making the goals few makes it easy to execute because reality is it takes quite alot of effort to achieve most of the goals we set.

Pretty sure most of us have our set goals for this year and I sincerly wish we all achieve our goals. The past year was quite a tough one for myself and my family as we a number of family members and were involved in a number if stressful events. I'm hoping this year is a gentle one and a year to be thankful for by the end. Happy New Year once again friends.
