Air Fryer Diaries: Chicken Fillet and Tofu...

There are times when people are very busy to even prepare their own meals, so they mostly either order some delivery or simply eat out. However, continuously choosing these options isn't very healthy. Convenient, yes... but perhaps, it'd be much better to keep it at a minimum. They're not very pocket-friendly either.

During my work days, I usually rely on my parents to cook. Well, even on my days off, though I sometimes volunteer to cook especially when using the air fryer. haha However, there are times when papa is busy and mama is feeling a bit under the weather. In such occasions, we buy food outside.

It's a different story these days, though. We are in the process of changing our eating habits, so the food we buy outside would be less healthy than what we prepare at home. So, we decided to cook at home as much as possible... even simple dishes would do.

And among those simple dishes are these...

They're air fried chicken fillet and tofu! <3

It's pretty quick and easy to prepare...

We have some chicken fillet marinade in the fridge that we can cook anytime. They're marinated only with garlic powder, a tiny bit of salt and black pepper.

The tofu is also prepared or seasoned with the same thing. We just got rid of its excess water, then spread some garlic powder and black pepper on it.

For the cooking part, I just laid some paper... it's similar to baking paper. We didn't want to keep on washing the air fryer pan and rack, so this is a great choice.

Then, I brushed a bit of oil on the paper and added the tofu and chicken breasts I wanted to cook.

I set the timer to 30 minutes... although 25 minutes is enough to cook it. The temperature is at 180 degrees Celsius as recommended for chicken.

From time to time... like every 10 minutes or so... I check them either to flip or add some sauce. We prepared some sauce made from banana ketchup, garlic powder, black pepper and canola oil.

After 30 minutes, it's cooked and ready to eat! I also had time to do other things during those 30 minutes, so it's pretty time-efficient. :) And since they're done, I just cut them in bite sizes and serve them for lunch or dinner... Yummy~!!!

We got some tofu on both sides and the chicken in the middle. They were so delicious and it smelled really good... maybe because of the garlic powder and black pepper. Itadakimasu!

That's it for this post. Thanks for checking and see you next time! :D
