Air Fryer Diaries: Onion Rings...

One of my favorite Filipino snack is Onion Rings. It's a snack similar to Funyuns. However, I decided to stop eating it because of its high salt content and I'm trying to live at least a bit healthier than usual. haha I also avoid eating salty snacks or junk food, so mama won't be tempted. I am implementing lifestyle change especially with regards to diet to my parents, so the least I could do is apply the same rules to myself.

So instead of eating the unhealthy snack, I decided to make onion rings myself. haha I have never done it before... my parents either, so let's try it out.

I bought this beautiful white onions when papa and I went grocery shopping last time. I'm not a fan of onions, but I like the taste of white onion.

I only chose a few pieces of rings and set aside the others. We can use it for other dishes later on. I decided not to cook a lot since I'm not sure whether my parents would eat it or not.

Aside from the onion, I prepared a mixture of flour, baking powder and a pinch of salt... then in another bowl, I prepared egg and milk... then lastly, some bread crumbs.

I just dipped the ring into the first bowl, second bowl and third bowl before placing them in the air fryer.

I cooked it for 30 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius. It needed more time to cook since I'm using this foil bowl... but if I cooked them directly on the rack, it'll probably just need around 20 minutes.

It doesn't look very beautiful, but it tasted great. Mama who isn't a fan of onion enjoyed eating it.

I cooked this for dinner. We had some leftover lumpia from lunch during that time, so I reheated them as well. It's nice because reheating them in the air fryer made them a bit crispy. :)

I didn't want to waste the other ingredients I used so I mixed them all together and added one more egg and some grated cheese.

I then place it in the air fryer for around 10 minutes... and viola!!! It tasted like pancake. lol

We had some yummy dinner that time. The next day, mama cooked some vegetables with soup since we only had fried food the night before. lol Well, at least, there isn't any oil involved. ^^

That's it for now. Thanks for checking this post out. See you around! (^^,)/
