Garden Update: The Veggies at Night :)

In my past garden-related posts, I usually mention how going to the garden in the morning is part of my daily routine. And so, I've shared pictures of our plants in the daytime. They all look so lovely under the sun, don't they?

However, in this post, I'm going to share some of the shots I took of the vegetables in our garden at night. I don't know why, but they also shine... or am I being biased because they're like my babies? haha

This okra is kind of chubbier than usual. It looks pretty, though. There's also a wilting okra flower beside it which will soon become another veggie. To be honest, it feels that this bonsai okra would say goodbye soon. The plant's stem is getting old and higher. Though it's still providing us with vegetable, I feel that it'll only a few more times in the coming days. Well, we do have new seedlings, but this is one of the first okra I planted since we started gardening earlier this year.

Wild chilis at night. :)
It's the same age as our okra and I really thought that it won't bear anymore chilis after we harvested the ones before. However, it's bearing quite a lot of flowers still, and it's making me hopeful.

Our okra and tomato seedlings.
For some reasons, there is something trying to eat the leaves of our seedlings, but I couldn't find the culprit. I thought it came from the cactus or succulent that's also growing beside it because it's the first one whose leaves were eaten.

I separated the baby cactus now, and somehow the leaves improved. I'll have to replant the bigger seedlings soon. Earlier today, I took some seeds out of the bonsai okra I was trying to dry and planted them. I hope some seedlings grow out of them soon.

The bell peppers are so aesthetic at night. Maybe because they look pretty shiny due to the camera flash? But really, they're so nice to look at. They'll start to change color sometime next week, I think?

Lastly, we have our eggplants. One of them is still a baby, though. However, the other one... although small can already be harvested. Actually, I harvested that eggplant and the chubby okra above this morning.

I got them during my morning garden visit. Then later on, while I was working, mama harvested some malabar spinach and moringa leaves. We had a nice vegetable soup in coconut milk last lunch and it was so yummy.

I couldn't take a photo of it though because I was already hungry. hahaha

Maybe next time?

Anyway, I'll end this post here. See you around!

I always love doing this kind of stuff. Backyard gardening is enjoyable, yet provides us with lots of benefits.
A way to a healthy living

I love the night photos as well, getting more beautiful images will also put more great minds into getting started into Agriculture. I visit my farm as well at night because of so many reasons. Thanks for the update.
