I Got Some "PASALUBONG" From My Grandpa <3

A few days ago, my grandpa who is from the southern part of the Philippines visited us. He dropped by Cebu before going to Negros which is my father's hometown and is in another island. This grandpa is my father's uncle. He's the younger brother of my late grandpa (papa's father), but our relationship is pretty close.

Whenever he comes to Cebu, he stays in our house for a night to catch up before going to his hometown. And every time he comes here, he'd always bring me some "pasalubong" or souvenir. He knows that I love durian candy or any durian sweets. Durian snacks aren't that common in Cebu, but is a delicacy from his place. Here's what he gave me this time. :)





These are some of the delicacies from his place. They're a huge pack of assorted durian and other fruit's candy and a creamy durian bar.





At first, I thought that these yummy and soft sweets are the same but with colorful wrapping. However, when I unwrapped and tasted them, I was surprised in a very happy way.






These babies wrapped in blue and yellow aren't durian. When I checked the package again, I confirmed that the blue one is mangosteen (my fave fruit) and jackfruit (one of mama's faves).

The other were variations of durian. If I'm not mistaken, the red one is durian with peanut, the pink one is creamy durian and the orange one is with butter. They're all so delish that they just melt in your mouth. I couldn't stop eating them... but I tried, so I just have a couple or so every after meal for dessert. haha

This is how the durian bar looks like. It's a huge bar of joy for me. haha The reason why I strongly believe that the pink one is creamy durian is because it tastes so much like this bar. It's so delicious that I want to get more of these. They're not available in Cebu, but when I checked the brand's social media, they do ship their products all over the Philippines, so I'm so happy. (haha)

Funny thing is, grandpa also gave me this pack of mentos. hahaha You guys know how smelly durian is -- though the candies aren't as smelly as the actual fruit. It's still better to keep your breath fresh. hahaha

But really, I can just brush my teeth, though... Thanks for these grandpa. :)
