It's Time to Paint!!!! <3 + Unboxing My Acrylic Paints <3 <3 <3
I'm so happy and excited to paint something today because the acrylic paint along with the other stuff I ordered finally arrived. I'm especially giddy about this purchase because I got almost 50% discount because of the gift vouchers I got. This set of acrylic paint tubes will last me quite a while and I'd be able to paint a lot of things! yaaaay!!!! Of course, I painted the first artwork using these new paints a while ago.
Before I show you the progress shots for my artwork today, allow me to do some unboxing! Instead of paying $14 for this purchase, I only paid around $7.50. I hope I can gather points again, so I could exchange it with some vouchers I could use in purchasing art materials. Having these stuff makes me more excited and motivated to create something. Let's do the unboxing!
You may notice that I bought more white paint. I realized how much I use this paint. In my solid watercolor, I already ran out of white paint... in my small watercolor tube, I also ran out of white paint first. That's why, I bought more white paint this time. Haha Aside from the acrylic paint tubes, I also bought a wooden palette for mixing paint and two white pens which I can use for highlighting because my liquid eraser or correction pen needs a lot of squeezing and are quite thick.
My parents asked me what I want for Christmas this year... I usually just say "cash" because I don't really have any particular things that I want, but this time, I want more art materials I could use to improve my craft. <3 I'm just so glad that they're both very supportive with this hobby. It makes me more encouraged when I see myself improving and become more able to express my thoughts through art.
So much for the unboxing part, let me show you what I painted earlier today. <3
I love painting the night sky and I am becoming more and more interested in making silhouettes. I enjoy mixing colors and creating a vibe out of it and the silhouette becomes the story. Of course, there's still a lot to improve, but I did enjoy making this. (^_^)v Allow me to show you some progress shots of this artwork.
What I like about paint in tubes is that I can just easily squeeze them out and place them directly on the paper or canvas. I did mix in some purple on the palette though. haha But really, I like how the colors were able to mix and blend well creating a color I want the night would look like.
As for the stars, I thought of using the toothbrush, but the bristles were already stiff... T_T So, I decided on using the brush to brush method. It turned out well for me, though. And as for the silhouette, I chose to draw something that resembles a reindeer, because Christmas is around the corner. haha I also enjoyed trying to make some silhouette of grass and a crooked tree. I thought silhouettes of crooked trees are cooler than the usual ones.
I want to create more similar art. An art where I can enjoy mixing colors for the background and use silhouettes to tell a message or a story. I should buy more black paint in the future, then if that were the case, right? haha
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this piece as much as I enjoyed painting it. See you next time... I would love to paint again tomorrow. Hopefully, it wouldn't be very hot outside. XD Have a great one!
