Sunset Watercolor Painting (Because I Suddenly Got An Hour Free Time...xD)

My last class for tonight was suddenly cancelled because my student was absent. She messaged me earlier tonight that she's working overtime, so I got myself an hour free time. I'm quite in the mood to paint... and so I did.

Here's what I made a while ago...

I felt like painting something that would make me feel calm every time I see it, so I ended up painting this lovely sunset scenery.

First things first, I put on some Lofi Beats on Spotify and prepared the materials I'm using. Let's go through the progress shots of this artwork...

I didn't feel like mixing acrylic paint tonight as it would take more time, so I decided to use my solid watercolor and took out my watercolor pad. I also refilled my brushes with water in advance, so I'm good to go.

Just playing with the background colors. I know it's messy, but it's fun! I let it dry for a bit before adding some details... Well, mostly silhouette. ^^

The silhouettes are all done... They're made up of three islands. The biggest one would be the farthest island... then there are some coconuts on the middle island and the nearest one... some random grass. I forgot to use detailer brush at first, so the grass was a bit thick, but the second one looks better. hahaha

And what is a sunset scenery without the setting sun? I also added random clouds in the sky...

Despite placing some masking tape around it, there's still some paint that leaked, so I took out a black marker and made a frame around it. :)

And it's done!!! Fun fact... the first photo (material preparation) was taken at 10:17PM and the final photo was taken 11:16PM... (^^,)/
