The Guy I Used to Like Sent Me a Gift... (^^,)/

This morning, my papa and I went grocery shopping for our store and also for our personal needs. While we were at the supermarket, I received a message from my mama that someone from the post office came and told her that I have a package which is from Japan to get from their office and left her a claim stub.

Mama sent me this picture...

When I heard about it, I smiled because I somehow had the idea who it was from. Well, I have talked about this guy in some of my posts in the past. He was someone I used to like and really played a huge role in my life. It was impossible for us to have an official romantic relationship, but we remained good friends.

He's really close to my family as well, so somehow, he has become a part of it. We continued to keep in touch as friends/family, but it isn't as often as it used to. On my birthday last March, he asked for my home address because he said he wants to send me something. He said it would be a very belated gift because he still needs to go to Hokkaido to visit his grandma and he'll be getting the gift there. (He lives in Tokyo, by the way...)

Simply the thought of it made me happy, but I decided not to really expect. You know... some promises were made in the past that didn't really happen. lol

On the way to the post office...

It was a hot day... when papa and I arrived home, we drank some water, took the claim stub and headed to the post office. It was still several minutes past ten that time, but we decided to go immediately because it would be so much hotter later. xD

I got the package!

I honestly had no idea what was inside. My parents were also joking about it being a cake or ice cream... or some snacks. haha

Inception!!! it was a box within a box~!!! j/k

Our curiosity just grew as I continued peeling these stuff. haha Until, I finally reached the end point.

There were two things inside the box.

It's Tegonyan's picture from EPCOTIA concert and a very beautiful music box. YAAAAY~!!

Allow me to tell you a story for each item he sent me. :) Let's start from Tegonyan's picture...

The guy you see above is a former idol and my favorite. I've loved him for more than 10 years now... and the person who sent me this knows about it. It isn't the first time he gave me a picture of Tegoshi.

Before he graduated from the academy where we met, he also gave me a picture of Tegoshi because he knows how crazy I am about this guy. I super love his voice and until now, I follow his journey while creating music on YouTube as well as his gaming career.

So much for Tegoshi, my ex-crush (let's just call him that.. lol) wrote a short message at the back of this picture. He was supposed to visit us this year, but COVID happened and his accident, too. He underwent a surgery earlier this year, so his plan of coming here was postponed.

I was not expecting this gift, though. It's a music box which is from a famous music box museum in Hokkaido. It's so beautiful and intricate. It's my first time seeing what's really inside a music box. I feel grateful...

When I listened to it, I thought the song rings a bell, but I can't clearly point out what it was at first. I tried listening to it more until I realized what the song was. It was this...

Lyrics and translation from: honyakukonyaku of LJ

サクラ咲け 僕の胸のなかに
sakura sake boku no mune no naka ni
Sakura bloom within my heart

芽生えた 名もなき 夢たち
nebaeta na mo naki yume tachi
They've sprouted, these dreams without names

振り向くな 後ろには明日はないから
furimukuna ushiro ni wa asu wa nai kara
Don't turn around, because tomorrow is not behind me

前を向け
mae wo muke
Face forward!

The music box plays the chorus of the song called "SAKURA SAKE" by ARASHI. It's one of my favorite songs from this group and I remember I changed my ichiban from Matsujun to Sakurai Sho because of this song. lol I love Sho's rap part and he also helped in creating this song.

It's a very encouraging song, but actually, it's also quite romantic. It's about connecting two people who are apart by distance, but weren't truly separated... and that the day for them to meet again will definitely come.

Well, I do hope to meet him again someday. And yes, the music box is customized... he chose the song.

I messaged him after realizing what the song was and asked him if he chose it... and he said, yes, he did... and that he wasn't surprised I was able to figure out the song. haha He called me an otaku again... as if he isn't one, too! xD

Do you see that cute flower on top of the music box? He also customized that. I just find it so cute and I truly appreciate the effort. He isn't the artistic type of person, but he still did this. I'm just so grateful. The music part is expected, though... since we like similar types of music. haha

I will really treasure this gift. The effort he placed in them really got me. He's still the same thoughtful guy I used to know. I really hope to hangout with him again. Maybe when the pandemic condition is better, and when he fully recovers. He's still undergoing some rehabilitation after his accident. But just like the song says, we should face forward!

Thanks for reading this post. See you next time! <3
